The staff were excellent, especially the front desk/ do it all superstar, didn't get her name but she agreed, Thailand next. At one point I thought some ones dogs were waking me up from a much needed nap however was just the howling monkeys. Highly recommend. "

"If you only stay in upscale 5 star - this isn't your accommodation type. The rooms have old carpeted floors so wear your shoes. Other than that- beds were comfortable and everything was clean, there is coffee and tea available 24/7 and a small bottle if wine to welcome you. Breakfast is included and it was delicious. You can use their sister property with hot spring pools free of charge and they will even lend you a towel! The place has an area to shower and change for guests from San Bosco. "

"We were going back and forth between a few different properties and we are so glad we ended up going with this one!!! The staff was amazing and attentive (especially Hamid and Kevin), the staff went above and beyond to make our stay as easy and comfortable as possible, the bedding was great, and the grounds made you feel like you were on a retreat. We loved the intimate feel and getting to know the staff. We were sad to leave but look forward to the opportunity to return!"

"At the end of November, 2025, our family spent three days in La Fortuna at Arenal History Inn. This is a small hotel with only about 10 units. It is however a little different from a regular hotel in that each spacious single-storm room is independent from the others. "Although this hotel is a lower price point than hotels I had stayed at in Costa Rica in the past the service and facilities were excellent. However, the star of the hotel is Paco the resident doggy. Very friendly an greeted us when we returned from every outing. Also, contact the hotel in advance and they will arrange airport transportation and tours and excursions. Our favorites were horse back riding and the night anima tour. "
