Basic accommodations but clean. The staff takes good care of the visitors and made our stay comfortable. Secluded location but great for hiking and disconnecting from the busyness of day to day life.

Schönes Zelt mitten im Regenwald. Die Anfahrt war allerdings etwas anstrengend. Deshalb sind wir auch beide Tage dort geblieben und haben vor Ort Wanderungen gemacht oder waren am Pool. Der ist klein, aber sehr hübsch angelegt. Frühstück und Abendessen waren sehr gut. Wifi nur im Hauptgebäude.

Excellent place to support!

Good food and some very nice forest trails to walk. Great if you want to stay away from the masses and stay in the jungle with comfort.

It’s a nice place if one wants to experience camping with the comfort of clean bathrooms, safety and still enjoy the wilderness. Good vegetarian pasta options and breakfast

This property is beautiful! The staff were helpful and friendly. We ate many meals here on the property, we were not disappointed! We explored the surrounding villages and local cuisine as well.

Rustikale Unterkunft im Regenwald. Sehr sauber, sehr freundliches Personal. Kurzweilige Nachtwanderung inklusive. Das landestypische Frühstück und Abendessen war sehr lecker.

The property and surroundings were beautiful. The room was very nice and fit our family of four perfectly. We loved hearing the nature noise maker surrounding us and the nature hike was really fun too. I would recommend a 4x4 to get to the property, it is a good ways up a bumpy road.

We kregen een upgrade. Het huisje was schoon. Doordat het heel veel regende was het er erg vochtig en niet warm. Er was geen fohn en die was ook niet verkrijgbaar bij de receptie. Er kwam erg weinig warm water uit de douche. Het eten was middelmatig, het ontbijt was goed.

Awesome jungle experience with very rich ecosystem right into the property. We got to see, hear and exprience jungle wildlife beyond expectations. Friendly staff, very good food. Overall experience was memorable.

Staff was wonderful. Only ate breakfast but it was good. Stayed for two nights. The shower didn’t work the second night, no hot water. Grounds weren’t as beautiful as advertised and didn’t see any animals as advertised. Picked this place specifically for that reason. The room itself was clean and not as in the tree tops as the pictures on their website show but we were able to sleep with it wide open which was nice.

Do not miss this! A night in a tree house! It sounded exotic, unique. It sure was! I wish we stayed longer!! You are given a flashlight as this is truly in the rainforrest! Each house is separate from the others, so very quiet. The hammock on the back deck fantastic. There are mosquito nettings for each bed, though we didn't see any mosquitos when we were there. Rain at night sounds heavenly on the roof. So peaceful! You have a great welcome when you arrive, and they are very helpful! And breakfast is wonderful!!! I will absolutely stay again on my next trip to Costa Rica!!!

Permanent Tent in the Rainforest

If you want a hotel with an air conditioned room and services and insects in your room freak you out, this is not for you. If you want to be away from everything, hike the trail that runs through the woods, avail yourself of the hotel staff's night nature hikes and eat communally served traditional, simple but good Costa Rican fair and don't mind sleeping in what's essentially a permanent tent with a bathroom attached, this is a brilliant place. There are only about 10 huts, so it's a pretty small facility. The rooms have beds with mosquito nets, a shower and bathroom, and a balcony facing the forest. The only power is in the bathroom, although there is an electric light in both the bathroom and the main room. At night light attracted insects, but during my stay in March I barely needed mosquito repellent around the area otherwise. Be sure to have a relatively rugged vehicle and know how to get there or use a shuttle or taxi; it's located 3.3 km down a dirt track which will put your vehicle's suspension to test and won't appear on most maps or GPSs. Also note that while it's relatively close to La Fortuna, plan on 40 minutes for the drive, since the roads are curvy mountain roads. The hotel staff and general manager will eagerly do their best to accommodate requests, be it for reserving activities, transportation, dietary needs etc.

La Tigra was a delightful experience, but one must be prepared to be somewhat isolated. After all, this is an eco-lodge--not a resort or even a hotel. Personally, we loved the "tree fort" feel of our bungalow. Keep in mind that you are basically exposed except for thin tarps, see-through curtains and mosquito netting, so all the sounds of the rain on the tin roof and the forest are surrounding you. Nonetheless, we felt safe and slept soundly. Our bungalow had two light bulbs and one bathroom outlet. So, be prepared to feel like you're "glamping." The architecture of these structures if simply marvelous! It's obvious every effort is made to blend in to the ecology around, even down to the building materials themselves. And everything seems well maintained. But it comes with some sacrifice. You won't have WiFi in your rooms--you'll have to go to the reception area. And your hot water seems dependent on how much sun has recently heated it. Be sure to bring an umbrella, raincoat and we recommend a headlamp for exploring at night. Also, expect to feel a bit isolated. The drive down the mountain is an 8-10 minute effort. You may have to drive a few km to find a tienda or "soda." On the other hand, the food at the lodge is fantastic! If you arrive by car, consider renting an SUV with at least all-wheel drive. We had a small, front-wheel drive car. It made it, but we felt a little overpowered by the rugged terrain. Special thanks to Wendy and Keiry. :)

Schöne Lodge, Restaurant-Preise echt ins Ordnung bei guter Qualität! Dusche nur ein Rinnsal mit kaltem Wasser, da mit Solar betrieben. Leider kann man vor Ort nicht so viel machen: Die trails sind schnell abgelaufen. Die Nachtwanderung war sehr schön. Dann gibts noch einen Kochkurs und die Möglichkeit einen Baum zu pflanzen (beides sehr teuer). Für alles andere muss man im Prinzip nach La Fortuna (1 Std Fahrtzeit)

Très bel endroit dans la nature avec la tranquillité. Personnel très gentil et offrant un excellent service. Nous avons pu observer plusieurs oiseaux, grenouilles et tortues sur le site. Se situe à 45 min en auto de La fortuna. Belle cabine!. Effectivement je recommande un VUS pour utiliser le chemin privé pour se rendre.

Such a beautiful place!!! Very peaceful and quite. Delicious food, wonderful staff. I would only request that they improve the living conditions of the chickens they have, that provide the eggs for breakfast every morning. Other than that, great, awesome, wonderful experience. Would definitely recommend.
