During my recent stay at this hotel to celebrate our anniversary, someone broke into our room while we were sleeping resulting in the theft of my wife’s wedding ring. While the hotel offered a refund for our stay, their handling of the incident was deeply disappointing.
My main concerns are as follows:
1. Security Failure:
The hotel’s own logs confirmed unauthorized entry into our room using a cloned keycard. This is a clear failure of the hotel’s keycard security system, which guests rely on for safety.
2. Inadequate Investigation:
The hotel’s report deflected responsibility claiming that the loss happened off property just because our electronics weren’t
3. Selective Theft:
The argument that only a ring was stolen (and not other items) does not excuse the hotel’s responsibility. Thieves often target small, high-value objects, and the hotel’s security should protect against all thefts.
4. Lack of Transparency and Cooperation:
Despite promises of reimbursement for both the stay and the stolen ring, the hotel has not provided a formal written report or clear timeline for payment. I have requested full documentation, including security footage and keycard logs, but have not received a satisfactory response.
