"Highly recommend The Retreat hotel! It was gorgeous and the views breath taking. The staff was very attentive and kind. Will definitely go again. The tours were over priced though. ~400 per tour and while the locations were beautiful it was not worth that much money. Also note there is no food you can buy except for in the restaurants there. So grab some snack at the airport. But highly recommend this place. Even in the rainy season it was amazing "

"Clean, large room. Friendly staff helped to book outings and transportation. No A/C which I was worried about but did not need due to cooler nighttime temperatures. Excellent breakfast. We really enjoyed our large private patio. Most outstanding grounds, hidden from main road, flowers and plants everywhere. Easy walk into Santa Elena."

"This hotel was great for our stay in Monteverde. It was a bit removed from the middle of town but close enough. Our tours were only 10-20 mins drive away. Staff were incredibly helpful and even improvised breakfast for a day we had a very early start. "

I was travelling solo and it was so nice to meet some of the people travelling like me in the morning and have breakfast together. The staff was so friendly and I had a great night sleep. My room was clean and had a comfortable bed and the shower was good too with plenty of hot water. Would definitely recommend and the price was great too! "
