"First of all our room didn't look ANYTHING LIKE THIS PHOTO! it was very dated and the mattress was horrible. The towels were not very soft and we were only given towels for one day. We had to ask for more. We loved the location which makes the vacation very enjoyable. there is a restaurant right across the street for lovely diners and a coffee shop downstairs which makes up for no amenities in the room. We felt like we were staying in a very special spot so all ion all we had a good stay. "

"Excellent accommodations and a central location in the heart of Cannery Row. The easy walk to the historic wharf in Monterey was just under a mile. The staff was uniformly very friendly and welcoming. I enjoyed the breakfasts and, particularly, the nightly "wine and cheese" reception. In addition, my best furry friend was welcomed with his name on a blackboard and water and treats!"

"Great hotel, great staff hotel was a little musty, weird smelling, but after being in the area, I think it was the bushes. We are not from the area so it was all a little different overall great places to stay a wonderful staff!"

"This is the second time staying here! Always great friendly service! This time we stayed on the 4th floor and there was a mini earthquake so elevators were not working so that was a huge bummer using the stairs. Parking is terrible if you get back late! I had to street park. Since there are 2 hotels on this property, they share parking. Just wish there were more available parking for guests."

"We have never traveled to Big Sur/Carmel By The Sea area before. I was hesitant to book at this hotel given that everything in the Carmel By The Sea area was a lot more than this nightly rate. This property also seemed to be far away from Carmel By The Sea. None of my fears were warranted. The location was absolutely perfect for getting around all areas that we wanted to travel on our trip. Carmel By The Sea was a quick and charming 6 minute drive.
