"As we were driving a series of long winding roads to this property we said to ourselves, “this place is going to have to be really nice to be worth the drive.” And it was. The nature sounds were amazing. Eating every meal on the lanai was lovely. The kids fought over who got to sleep on the lanai. It’s close to a beautiful black sands clothing-optional beach, and otherwise there’s not much to do out there. "This was a quick trip focused around seeing Kilauea’s frequent eruption episodes. We chose this vacation rental for budget reasons, and proximity to Volcano national park (40 minute drive). The tiny home was as described, 1 queen bed, 1 twin bed, full bath, well equipped kitchen, except for dishwasher (no big deal) it was tidy enough. Kitchen table and bench is really only place to sit, no lounge chairs or comfortable seating. Did not see a bbq, and outside table and chairs are pointless…rusty,...

"This house is just as advertised. It is 4 bedrooms and 1 bathroom. Sitting room and laundry. No kitchen or dinning room. It has a washing machine and dryer that are coin operated, so bring quarters if you are going to do laundry. There are limited towels, so bring your own. The fridge is full of owners food so don't bring any fresh or frozen food as there is no place to put it. "My family had the most amazing time. Matt was an incredible host! From all the amenities to opening coconuts for my eager daughter. He showed us all around the property and was very knowledgeable. "In general the house was great and as advertised. The jungle setting was awesome and furniture, bedding, appliances were all nice. The night time chirps by the coqui frogs were no joke and surprisingly loud. With that said, there were some aspects that made the stay rough for my family. When we stayed it was pretty warm (83 degrees) and humid, the fans helped but between that and the frogs it was hard to sleep. Each cottage, along with the main house, was thoughtfully stocked with essentials like coffee makers, towels, and dishes. The big house had fun extras like croquet and badminton sets. "We had such an amazing stay here! My partner and I were in Hawaii celebrating my 40th birthday and this leg of the trip was my favorite. The pictures of this property on the listing do not do it justice. I was blown away by the gorgeous garden that you can tell has been cared for in a major way. If you want to stay in a place where you can be a part of an incredible rain forest environment while still having a nice comfy bed to land in at the end of your day, this is the spot 10/10"
