Volterra is a sizable town and on the tourist trail for people coming in from Florence for sure, but we still had no trouble getting restaurant reservations and things were much more quiet in the evenings."

"We loved our stay at Borgo di Colleoli. A peaceful place with nice accommodation surrounded by beautiful Tuscan hills. Most tourist destinations are about 45-60 min drive, but it's worth it. I also lived the complimentary shower gel and shampoo infused with olive oil. Smelled fabulous."

"L’Antico Pozzo never disappoints. This is our second time staying here, and the only way to see San Gimignano. While the tourist hordes overrun the town, sit in their quiet courtyard and enjoy a relaxing afternoon with a bottle of wine, then walk to all of the towns attractions in the evening when the buses have all gone. Matteo was a great host, rooms are clean, comfortable and roomy. Location is tough to beat, just a short walk from the parking outside the city walls. "
