"Hotel owners, both husband and wife and their staff were really helpful and friendly. Property is really well maintained with diverse flowering plants and villa room we stayed in is very spacious and clean. Even though it is still the wet season, temperature was really pleasant and A/C wasn’t needed to sleep well. Very peaceful environment and walking distance to town square. Highly recommend if you’re looking for a place to getaway and relax."

"This was a beautiful unit a short drive from San Jose. The host offered us food and breakfast and messaged to check in if we were comfortable. We saw so many birds in the morning and evening. The pictures on the website don’t do justice to the amazing property. "

"Highly recommend The Retreat hotel! It was gorgeous and the views breath taking. The staff was very attentive and kind. Will definitely go again. The tours were over priced though. ~400 per tour and while the locations were beautiful it was not worth that much money. Also note there is no food you can buy except for in the restaurants there. So grab some snack at the airport. But highly recommend this place. Even in the rainy season it was amazing "

"What an amazing spot! Only a few minutes drive from downtown Atenas, but you feel like you're miles and miles away, up in the hills in a secluded spot with an amazing view. The hosts at the hotel were exceptionally kind and went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable, and they had loads of great dining recommendations to offer. We'll definitely stay here if we find ourselves back in the area. "

"AMAZINGLY customer service oriented. Bereníce, staff, SO attentive, kind & thorough. Prior to arrival, resort administrator engaged to make personalized arrangements. Wifi steady & stable. Jacuzzi a plus. For arrival, standard vehicle OK (albeit slow w potholes with some portions being unpaved roads), but 4x4 might be helpful. Highly recommend to get away from it all to chill. I travel a lot, and I would go back. "
