Welcome to Om Shanti, a beautiful rustic cottage nestled on the hillside of Amed in East Bali. The Cottage is a large stand-alone building on the highest point of the property and suitable for up to 4 persons. You have exclusive use of the cottage and its huge yoga deck. A separate building further down the property holds 3 smaller cottage-style rooms. There is an on-site spa for massages and beauty treatments and a vegetarian cafe with delicious food that can be delivered to your deck. And of course there is a swimming pool! In total there are only ever 8 – 10 guests on the property. You can rent the large cottage on its own or any of the 3 smaller cottage-style rooms. You can also rent the whole property for yourself and your family/friends. We have hosted several birthday celebrations over the years in this way. We have staff on-site to assist with all of your needs.
The Accommodation: The building is large, giving you a feeling of spaciousness.
*A 6 metre by 6 metre covered timber deck hangs over the gardens and provides views out to the Bali Sea. Perfect for doing yoga or just sitting with a cup of tea contemplating life!
*The master bedroom joins the deck through sliding glass doors. Fully air-conditioned with a king size 4 poster bed, you can lie in bed in the morning and watch the sunrise.
*An ensuite toilet and basin is off the bedroom and another door leads to the large outdoor private garden shower with hot/cold water. Enjoy showering under the starry night sky or during daylight with views to the ocean.
The Mezzanine: A set of stairs leads from the yoga deck to an open air mezzanine floor with a queen size bed under mosquito netting.
*This area is open-air with a fan only (no air-con) and is not suitable for young children
*At one end of the mezzanine floor is a large triangular window looking out to the ocean and surrounding hills.
*A second toilet and smaller outdoor shower are situated off the yoga deck.
Om Shanti Main Cottage sits high on the hillside and there are many stairs to climb to get to it....you will be rewarded with the expansive sea views.
The Amed coastline is fringed by coral reef, making this a wonderful place for snorkelling and scuba diving.
We are only a 5 minute walk from Sunset Point which has the best views of Mount Agung and the coral reef in Jemeluk Bay! Blue Earth is also a 5 minute walk and offers yoga twice a day and other activities such as movie and trivia nights.
Jemeluk is a calm bay and one of the nicest spots for swimming & snorkelling. From Sunset Point, walk down the hill and turn into the driveway of Blue Star and Villa Coral. You can rent snorkel gear at Blue Star and leave your belongings with the staff while you go into the water. Snorkel close to shore on the flat coral or venture out to the headland for some spectacular “bommies” and large schools of fish.

Across the road from Om Shanti cottage you will find a pathway to the rocky shoreline of Bunutan Beach. Just offshore is the reef, which stretches a kilometre, so you can swim for an hour or more and see a variety of different coral formations and types of fish, with many lovely surprises along the way. This stretch of ocean is changeable depending on the time of year and weather, especially during rainy season. It can be calm and clear one day and turbulent waves the next. If conditions are not good, it's best to walk to Jemeluk, which is a protected bay.
There are many attractions within a short drive of the property: Tirta Gangga Water Palace, Lempuyang Mountain and Temple, Besakih Temple, the Sacred Springs and Les Waterfall. Also, you can go fishing or on a snorkeling trip with a local fisherman or on an excursion to one of the staff members village to experience real Bali life. You will not have time to do everything you want to!
