Located on a large and secluded lot, this lovely dog-friendly cabin is perfect for that much-needed escapade with your loved ones! Enjoy a private back deck equipped with an outdoor dining area, providing the best place to enjoy all of your meals al fresco. The backyard borders the county park with easy access to a variety of hiking trails and the Nature Center. The cozy interior offers classic rustic vibes with all wooded walls and a wood-burning brick fireplace for those cold nights and a flatscreen Smart TV. The kitchen is well equipped with a full-size fridge, stove, oven, microwave, coffee maker and grinder, and toaster oven. Other amenities include cable TV, a DVD player, a washer/dryer, high-speed internet and free WiFi, perfect for working from home, distance learning, and streaming. For summer comfort, the home offers a mini-split A/C system in the living room and multiple portable fans

THINGS TO KNOW
Riverside County regulations prohibit any "party" lighting (outdoor luminaires shall not blink, flash, or rotate) and will hold guests/Vacasa liable for any "light trespass" on surrounding properties.
This home has a septic system.
There are streaming services available, but guests must log in with personal accounts.

If you are bringing a dog on your trip, the pet fee is already included in your quote when selecting ‘Yes’ to pets. If you would like to add more dogs, please contact us.

Parking notes: There is free parking available for 2 vehicles.



Damage waiver: The total cost of your reservation for this Property includes a nightly damage waiver fee, plus tax if applicable (the “Damage Waiver”). (A discount may be applied for stays of 28 nights or longer, if permitted.) The Damage Waiver covers you for up to $3,000 of accidental damage to the Property or its contents (such as furniture, fixtures, and appliances) as long as you report the incident to the host prior to checking out. The Damage Waiver fee eliminates the need for a traditional security deposit.

Fantastic get away! Highly recommend staying here. Very peaceful and close enough to town if you need to make a run. Fully stocked kitchen, extra blankets when it’s cold. We will definitely be back!

Our family loved our stay at the Elkhorn Retreat! Upon entering, we were welcomed by soothing music and a very clean relaxing space. There were comfy beds for everyone in our family of four--with 2 college boys, this was a must! There were plenty of blankets, pillows, and towels. The atmosphere was sufficiently rustic, with two modern and spacious bathrooms. The location is a mere 5 minute drive to town and the hiking trail is just down the road

We loved this property! We try to spend Thanksgiving in Idlewild every year so if this property is available, we are definitely going to try to grab it again!! Perfect set up, loved the cozy set up,the great fireplace and the rooms were extremely comfortable. We will definitely be back!

Peaceful private mountain getaway

Super close to town but you feel miles away. The best part is you do not have neighbors right next door giving this place some really nice private relaxation. Highly recommend!

Perfect Cabin

This is a great little cabin - nicely furnished and equipped. The cabin is in a quiet neighborhood, basically next door to the Idyllwild Nature Center, and is very private. The bird show on the back deck was great. Absolutely would stay again.

Christmas Getaway

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay during the Christmas holiday. The cabin was charming and had everything we needed. The kitchen was well-stocked so that we were able to cook a festive Christmas dinner and other meals during our stay. Please note there was no grill outside, but the host provided a small "Foreman" type grill for inside use. Quite a few trails were able to be accessed directly from the property which we loved! Another note: A pack of cayote walked close to the house one afternoon. We were very glad our dogs were inside at the time.We would gladly book another stay at this adorable dog-friendly cabin!

Great cabin

The cabin is lovely. Well laid out & nicely appointed. The central heat was nice- we kept it at 65/66 & it was perfect. I brougt wood, but am leaving it for the next guest. As, check in is not until 4pm and we arrived at 4:30 almost dark, a better exterior lighting would have been appreciated. Your flashlights all need batteries. Otherwise, we really enjoyed our stay hre. This was a Christmas present to my mom, who used to live here in Idyllwild.w

Mountain cabin perfect for rest and relaxation

We stayed close to Idyllwild Pines Camp so we could visit with campers and friends during day and retreat to alone time at the cabin for restful sleep. Cabin was perfect for 4 of us adults.

We had a wonderful time at Elk Horn Retreat. We stayed 5 nights and loved every minute of it. The cabin is beautifully decorated, well furnished, and extremely comfortable. The location is very private and an easy drive to town. Highly recommend this cabin for a stay in Idyllwild.

Relaxing Getaway

We had a wonderful time visiting Idyllwild and staying eat the cabin. It was much more than we could have hoped for. Extremely clean and cozy. My only bit of advice is watch the driveway. It is NOT for a low car or with snow on the ground. It is very steep. Fortunately I brought my pickup and was able to back out of the driveway. We will be back!

When we first stepped foot into the cabin it was immediately apparent the love that was poured into this home; so very warm and inviting. The cabin was completely spotless and very well maintained. We had everything we needed. The incredibly beautiful location can't be beat. There are bobcats that stroll through the woods surrounding the cabin in the early morning and evenings so please be sure to keep your fur babies leashed.
