"I have been a Bluebird customer for over thirty years. The motel is simply classic, no frills Americana, spotlessly clean with direct access and parking, right off the street. There's no place else for me in Cambria."

However, they were very accommodating in getting us our key after hours. When we went to checkout the next morning there was still no staff in the office. "The hotel is run down. They don’t have A/C but they do have a ceiling fan. Since we were next to the beach I thought it would be ok just open a window and get a good breeze. Wrong. You cannot open the window more than a quarter open due to safety locks. The room got super hot, you cannot open feel the difference from outside to inside. We had to have our door open to let some cool air in. Other people had to do the same. I like that pets were free and you are walking distance from the beach ...

"The staff was exceptionally welcoming and helpful. The breakfast was exceptional. The building we stayed in was old. We live in an 120 year old home but this seemed much older. Our room, especially the bathroom, was small. Be aware the stairwell is steep and narrow which may not be an issue if you do not have to carry large or heavy bags to your room. "

Although "shabby chic", the four Junior Suites boasted the best bathtubs, deep soak, and fireplaces.
