"Check in was easy. The staff was very nice. Main reception said we could get something to eat at the restaurant at 11:30 AM - not true. They did not open for lunch until noon. The rooms were spacious. There was a loud party in the private dining / party area. Luckily they got more quiet around 10 PM. Breakfast was good. "

"An older property but refurbished to a high standard. We chose this property as a means of visiting Edinburgh without he hassle of parking our vehicle in town. We took the bus into Edinburgh from Musselburgh. Very convenient. "

"Absolutely first class in all respects if you are travelling by car. Great parking. Super clean and beautiful rooms. In house restaurant and a pub within a short walk but that is all, since the hotel is located in a residential area. Sets the standard that hotels should aim for."

"Parking was easy as was the check-in. Very welcoming. Room was very clean and had everything we required for 1 night stay. Was late arriving and early leaving so did not get a chance to try the restaurant. Was very quiet for been so close to a road so had a very peaceful and relaxing sleep. I would return again."

"Lovely, quiet hotel. We came on a loose end due to it being my uncle's funeral so we just booked what was most convenient. The room was already set up so my children had a comfy sofa bed, breakfast was great and there were plenty of options for my fussy children. Staff were lovely too we'll definitely return. "

"The receptionists and other workers were very welcoming and professional and helpful and accomodating.I dont like the rule of the hotel about you cant bring outside food(cooked) like pizza and food in box etc., into your room.That is the worse rule you can have at a hotel without a proper explanation that makes sense.Was told guests complain about the smell.That cant be.Because if a restaurant is on property,how does that explanation make sense.If one is worried about rats and cockroaches...

"The only negative thing I can say is that the breakfast was affected by the worst coffee I have had in a hotel in ages. It was watery and weak and just lukewarm. Both coffee machines were the same poor quality and delivered the same crummy coffee every morning for the four breakfasts we were there. Otherwise, everything else was excellent with this property."

"Our room was very well soundproofed from the road and other rooms. The bed was so comfortable. Surprise extra goodies in the room were appreciated. Delicious breakfast. Great location, walkable to so many things. I highly recommend Market Street Hotel. "

"The rooms were great. The balcony and views were breathtaking. The hotel restaurant was phenomenal. The location was an easy in & out for both city walking and driving to the highlands. Highly recommend!"

"This has been my favourite find so far. The location is stunning, environment relaxing, the staff are fantastic. I have enjoyed many return visits to dine in the lovely restaurant and to stay. The children feel this is like a home from home and treat some of the staff like family."

"The Scott is a beautiful property, and the staff is incredible! Everyone we talked to was friendly, knowledgable, and willing to do whatever they could to help. We stayed here one night to end our trip in Scotland on a high note, and it did not disappoint. The breakfast was delicious, and they were able to substitute gluten free toast for some of their dishes when we asked. Would definitely stay again if we come back to Edinburgh!"
