"Fabulous refurb, stayed here about 12 years ago the transformation is absolutely lovely! Stayed in a standard room, which is on the small size but beautifully decorated with everything you need. Particularly liked the L'Occitane toiletries in the stylish bathrooms. The restaurant and casual areas are very stylish, the food, atmosphere and staff were great, and Aberlady is just an adorable quiet location on the doorstep of 22 golf courses, beaches and fabulous walks. "Had a lovely 1 night stay at Balbeggie. Room was lovely with a lovely view out over the garden. Food was delicious with plenty of choice. Fantastic cocktails at a really good price. All staff were so lovely and helpful. Would definitely recommend a stay here and we will be back."

"Check in was easy. The staff was very nice. Main reception said we could get something to eat at the restaurant at 11:30 AM - not true. They did not open for lunch until noon. "The receptionists and other workers were very welcoming and professional and helpful and accomodating.I dont like the rule of the hotel about you cant bring outside food(cooked) like pizza and food in box etc., into your room.That is the worse rule you can have at a hotel without a proper explanation that makes sense.Was told guests complain about the smell.That cant be.Because if a restaurant is on property,how does that explanation make sense.If one is worried about rats and cockroaches...

"The only negative thing I can say is that the breakfast was affected by the worst coffee I have had in a hotel in ages. It was watery and weak and just lukewarm. Both coffee machines were the same poor quality and delivered the same crummy coffee every morning for the four breakfasts we were there. Otherwise, everything else was excellent with this property."

"The Scott is a beautiful property, and the staff is incredible! Everyone we talked to was friendly, knowledgable, and willing to do whatever they could to help. We stayed here one night to end our trip in Scotland on a high note, and it did not disappoint. The breakfast was delicious, and they were able to substitute gluten free toast for some of their dishes when we asked. Would definitely stay again if we come back to Edinburgh!"
