"While this is a beautiful old hotel, it does come with some issues. The HVAC in our room did not work. We asked 3 times to get fixed. Luckily the windows can open but the street noise was very loud. The shower was nice but water splashed everywhere due to the small glass door and very slippery. Dated but full of charm. Not a 5 star but perhaps a 4."

"This hotel is located within the free tram zone and boasts a prime location right across from Queen Victoria Market. I had planned to just whip up a simple dinner in my room, but since the place even had a full-size oven, I was able to enjoy cooking with locally sourced ingredients I bought at the market. All the staff were friendly. I’ll definitely stay here again the next time I visit Melbourne."

"Staff was not helpful and bizarrely sassy. My room didn’t get cleaned one of the nights (not a huge deal) and when I requested additional towels I was met with attitude. Further, when I inquired with 2 men at the front desk about where to watch a soccer game they gave me a weird non-answer and commented on my accent. Would not recommend and will not return."
