" The first impression upon entering reception (it's in the pub) is that you feel like you've walked into the crime series Midsummer Murder and are looking to find Barneby. Our room was great, large bed, nice bathroom. You are greeted very warmly and uprightly, and you feel like you've been treated to a very good life. The Walnut Tree is located in a small village (approx. 400 inhabitants) and is very peaceful and full of character, making it the perfect place if you want peace and...

"The property was well run by all the staff in the restaurant and the bar . Friendly and professional manner. Staff were helpful and have a good knowledge of the local area. Room was spacious and yet cosy, and was cleaned daily. Property is in great location on the main road in Street. Plenty of free car parking at the rear . Loved the outside seating area . Will definitely be returning. "

"We came by rail. The choice of food was perfect. A smaller kettle would have been an advantage - to fit better under the tap. Also a larger coffee pot, so that it contained a 'top up'. One of the best hotels we have stayed at. Thankyou."

"We went with our children, who are 5 and 2. The family room we stayed at was big and spacious, so was the bathroom. All beds were comfortable, and they even had a cot ready for our 2yo. The children had a blast playing at the large play area while seeing the goats and alpacas. Breakfast was included and it was pretty good. The only downside was that, even though they have wifi, we had no signal in our room, so we could only go online (wifi or otherwise) at the restaurant and common areas."
