"The Carte’s were extremely pleased with our stay for the 2025 Labor Day holiday. The house was amazing, clean and Phil was extremely helpful with answering our questions about the area. The best part of our trip was by far the wild horses and the seclusion of the Rusty Crab. We recommend booking a visit at this house and giving it a 10 out of 10!!!"

"House/property was everything we needed. Check in process was very easy, location was perfect. We saw the wild horses every day, which was fantastic! We had no issues, so did not need to contact the owner during our stay, but prior to the stay, owner was very responsive. "

"Great for large group, we ranged from 12-63 and there was something for everyone. Some of our favorites: wild horses, many times even in our yard, crabbing with string and chicken, beach, beach, beach, room to spread out and gather together for family games, comfortable beds, each with own bath, double kitchen utilities with double everything. This is a must for ones bucket list!"

"Fantastic place - owners were excellent, very communicative. One toilet and one shower in separate rooms were not working. Not a big inconvenience. Air filters need replacing. Amazing location in OBX. Would love to stay here again."

"The property is in a great location close to the beach, stores, restaurants, etc., 2 minutes walk to the beach on the ocean side, 20 min drive to the soundside beach. 40 min drive to the nature preserve with the wild horses. Very clean. The house itself needs a little TLC, but this did not affect our stay at all. "

"Host was very responsive. Properly is two blocks from the beach and an easy walk. House easily accommodated our group of 7 women. Plenty of porch space to enjoy morning coffee or evening happy hour. The house could use a few updates and is showing its age."

"Beautiful house, clean with all the essentials provided. It was a 2 min walk to beach access which was wonderful. The host provided beach essentials, bikes, etc. which made packing for the trip that much easier. I had a couple of questions since this was my first time booking through VRBO and the host was very quick to respond and wonderful to work with. Highly recommended. "

"Had a great time with family and friends! The house was very spacious and accommodating for multiple families with children. Very secluded and quiet. We did have to cut our trip short due to emergency evacuation order due to hurricane Erin. Overall we enjoyed our first few days and are considering making it a yearly trip to the same home! "

"The house was cleaner than most beach houses I have been too and it had a fantastic pool and hot tub. The rrooms were really nice and two had an adjoining bathroom. the owner provided a document that provided everything you would need to know about the house and the area. The beach was just down a dirt road that was only traveled by those on the road and the beach was never really crowded and it was very clean. Not great for finding sea shells or sharks teeth but no rocks or anything but soft...

"The house was located on a 4 x 4 only beach, which would have been fine if we had been informed prior to our arrival about the conditions to expect and the proper way to navigate them.
