"Absolutely loved this location. I have never stayed here before and took a chance and it was so nice. Beautiful grounds and nice quiet atmosphere. The breakfast pass at the Dunes was amazing. The only downfall is there are no elevators so if you are on the 3rd floor (like we were) you have to climb the stairs, which wasn't a problem for us but may be for some people. Definitely would stay there again."

"My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay here! Everything was clean, comfortable, and well maintained from the moment we arrived. The grounds were beautiful, clean, and had so much outdoor space to enjoy. We loved being able to walk around, take in the scenery, and use the bikes available to ride around Manteo! It was such a peaceful and enjoyable atmosphere. Every staff member greeted us and was so welcoming. We especially want to shoutout the staff member who was working Friday morning (7/17)....

"Upon first entry of the hotel there was a strong septic odor. I mentioned this to Elizabeth at the front desk (who was extremely helpful) and she stated that when they do a lot of laundry the septic smell is more pronounced. This should have been my sign. The first room we were given had mold on the ceiling. The second room had a slow drain in the sink and the sink nor the tub appeared to have been cleaned. "The room was sufficient, could have been clean better. It was 2 of us and we managed. had to ask for new towels. but really nothing else. Beach view was good. Lots of sand dunes, But that the nature of the area. Kitchen was AWEFUL. Dirty, stove only had 1 unit working. Stove was dirty. Lots of dried food and not cleaned. We had to BUY pans because the pans provided were all Teflon and scratched and not safe to use. Cooking utensils were somewhat sufficient. The most important thing to address...
