🏝Relax Shack Brand New Listing OBX Surf Sunsets

A lovely beach house located on a quiet cul-de-sac just across the street from the beach. Decorated with cool beach vides w/ all brand new furniture in the heart of Kill Devil Hills. The beach is across the cross walk just a 1/2 mile away with free public parking. The sound is a half mile away as well with a beautiful walk/bike path that takes you directly to the Wright Brother's Memorial or you can see sunsets at the gazebo. We have a porch and full back yard w/ and outdoor shower.
The space
We have 2 bedrooms. A king size bedroom and a queen size bedroom that also has an additional queen couch bed in the living room. All beds and furniture are brand new! We have a lovely tropical bathroom with a tub and shower. Full kitchen equipped with everything you need to make a nice meal. Washer and dryer available in the bottom level with soap provided. A fenced back yard and a secure upper deck with locked gates.
The upper deck and the back yard are joined together with a gate on the upper deck that you can leave opened so your pet can enjoy the deck and walk down the stairs to the fenced back yard. Very quite street with a full driveway that has room to bring your boat. Free launch and boat ramp located 1/2 mile on the sound. The grocery store is just around the corner with many local restaurants and cool shops close by.
Guest access
Plenty of parking for up to 2 cars and room for your boat if you don't bring that many cars. You can walk to the beach, the sound, Food Lion, Publix, and several restaurants.
We allow up to 2 pets. First pet is $50 and the 2nd pet is $50. Please message us with details of your pet and their behavior once you book. Thank you!!!
The bottom level of the house is occupied by a very good friend of ours. She is very nice and quiet. She is gone most of the time working. She has a complete separate entrance and does not use the upper level in any way and does not use the back yard. Therefore, the rental of the house, the yard, and the deck is completely accessible to you only as the VRBO guests.

This property is absolutely perfect, especially if you are traveling with your pets. The easy, secure access they have to get from the deck to the privacy fenced backyard allowed you to sit and relax while they romp around. The inside is very bright and so clean, and they thought of everything to provide to make your stay seamless and easy packing because it’s all there. We enjoyed walking the dog down to the walking trail on the water every morning, it’s so safe a quiet. The house is centrally located to everything with plenty of great restaurants just blocks away. Amber and Brett were amazing hosts, their quick response to questions and just overall communication with check in and recommendations was definitely top notch. This is a little hidden gem and a great vacation value. You will love your stay at Relax Shack!!

Very clean and centrally located in KDH. Comfortable space, kitchen has everything you need for cooking, and the porch and outdoor space are very nice. Dogs loved the backyard access from the patio and Amber and Brett were very responsive and welcoming!

The property was quiet and felt private though in a neighborhood. The house was very clean and the kitchen well appointed for cooking. Our little dog came with us and was welcomed to stay. All was in good order as was described in the VRBO listing. Our only suggestion might be that the mattress was a little too firm--a memory foam mattress pad would be great! We would readily stay again, especially if the mattress was just a little softer! We thank our hosts for letting us make the booking though the holidays were upon us!

We loved this beach house! After a long drive we were relieved the home was tucked away on a quiet street, away from traffic. Everything was perfectly clean and welcoming, the decor and artwork place you on vacation right away. We kept noticing the small decorative items throughout our stay and we loved the whimsical touches. Amber and Brett really thought of everything when they prepared this home, anticipating the needs of their guests. You could really just show up with your clothes and some food and have everything else you would need for a successful beach vacation, even for your pet! Every time I turned around I was pleasantly surprised by a thoughtful touch. The backyard was perfect for early morning dog breaks. And the beds! So grateful that the beds were made when we got there, one less step once you arrive from a drive. Both beds were very comfortable.Communication was also perfect. Amber was so responsive! Also gave many recommendations that we utilized and we were appreciative that the research for where to eat or what to do was done for us.Location was also great. Yes, it's a walk across the road to the beach. With kids and all the accessories we chose to drive the minute or two across the road to park and it was fine. We walked across in the evenings and it wasn't bad. This home is convenient to so many places! Quick drives to sightseeing, shops, fun, food, etc.

Perfect little get away

This was a really well kept spot. The gated back yard was nice for the kids. Everything was clean and basic essentials were there. Quiet neighborhood. We would definitely book this place again. The hosts were quick and easy to communicate with.

Property was as described, in a great location. Walking distance to many places but centrally located for whole OBX touring. Great yard for our dog; we appreciated the dog friendly environment. Owners were very responsive to all questions.

Great stay!

The place was great, easy to get to and clean. The rooms and living area were a little bigger than they looked in the pictures which was nice. Check in and check out was very smooth. The hosts were easy to communicate with. It was a perfect stay! The house was perfectly located at the end of a quiet street near everything! We went to many local attractions… the Wright memorial, Jockeys Ridge, Ocracoke, Elizabethan gardens, and lighthouses. There are many great food and drink options in the OBX.…. Kill Devil Distillery, Lost Colony Tavern, 1718 Brewing, and Kill Devil creamery (right near the house!). We would come back and stay again! Thanks Amber and Brett!

The perfect getaway

The place was amazing, when you work on retail (grocery store) after the holidays the only thing you want to do is decompress and rest. And this places filled all our expectations and more. So cozy, plenty of space , super clean and our Host She is awesome.

Relaxing beach house at OBX!

Relax Shack is a great beach house with close access to the beach, great restaurants, movies, outdoor activities, and shopping. The house was well furnished for our stay, and we especially enjoyed the fenced-in backyard and the bikes provided with the home. A very nice place to “relax” at the OBX. We hope to visit this house again sometime soon!

Great spot

A great spot for a small (4-5 people) family. Our Labrador loved the deck and back yard so he got a vacation too! The house was very well stocked with all cooking and cleaning needs and if anything runs out you are very close to a store. Overall a great experience and we look forward to coming back!
