"Check in took a long time! I booked two rooms, but one was double booked. When we opened the door we found other guest’s stuff! Very confused! In the other room, refrigerator was empty. As a Hyatt member, i always was given free 2 bottle per room in other Hyatt places. This place refused to give nothing! Very bad experience ever!"

"My only criticism is that there is no laundry service or local laundry vendor. Also it would have been helpful for the restaurants in the area to be listed."

"If you have younger kids this place is perfect, and great value! They had a native English speaker at check-in which avoided any confusion. The shuttle bus to our accom was great. The location is in a quiet street, yet only a 2 min walk to a subway station on a line that connects straight to Kyoto Station."

"Ace hotel Kyoto is super cool! The staff went above and beyond to extend our stay due to passing typhoons and the hotel is stylish, rooms are spacious, clean and very comfortable. Great coffee downstairs and some lovely boutique shopping right outside the hotel. Close to trains and not in the crazy touristy area of Kyoto. Our family enjoyed our short stay. Highly recommend if you want to stay in downtown Kyoto."

"In agreement with most past comments. Accessible (very close to the karasuma oike subway station) and within walking distance to most places, clean, nice jet stream shower, helpful staff. Amenities were great. Lots of items available. The cherry on top is the 24 hour lounge with complimentary bread and pastries that actually taste good."

"A lovely hotel with spacious rooms, which perfectly accommodated our family of 5. I really appreciate the kitchenette and the washer/dryer too. The breakfast was a bit disappointing in terms of allergens. Food is not labelled and nearly everything had dairy, egg or wheat. The hotel itself does not take responsibility for breakfast unfortunately. I wish they could have told me in advance."

"Excellent location in a nice neighbourhood with plenty of restaurants. Drugstore and cute clothing shops nearby. Great soft ice cream at Guru right around the corner. Clean, spacious room. Lovely staff."

"Amazing property!!! 100% would recommend. The room was absolutely beautiful! Loved the huge in room tub. My only small complaint was the pillows were too hard and the hotel didn’t have any others available. But I would still absolutely recommend and stay there again!"

"This was a beautiful traditional property. It was spacious with excellent extra touches to make your stay feel even more comfortable and stress free. You are also offered a delicious desert at the end of your day which was delicious. "

"Staff is incredibly helpful and kind. Location is convenient! I booked this hotel specifically for the washing machine in my room, but it was broken. Luckily the staff offered to wash my clothes, but I wanted to wash them on my own so i declined. Overall good experience, just do not book if the primary driving factor is the washing machine."
