"We stayed in July, was very hot. There was no air con but we had a fan in the room. Shower was very slow and bed small ( I like a king size if for two people) Overall was ok, closed to the town, free parking and breakfast was excellent. Staff very friendly. I would recommend for short stay."

"The stay was good. The pub was clean, the staff really friendly and the food was good too. But I'm not sure about putting guests in the top floor rooms with only a fan! The rooms were unbearably hot. The fan did nothing and the only time the room cooled was the early hours of the morning. Not good!"

"No lift to rooms, only a mature female was available, she offered to take luggage. No fridge in the room and no iron in the room. Had to carry iron and ironing board from reception to the bedroom. Not a great choice for vegetarians."

"Newly built hotel with modern very clean design. Rooms with sea view have a spectacular view. Great location on bus route around Torbay. Breakfast and dinner of good standard. Staff are very efficient, attentive and pleasant. One thing to note is the £15 per day car parking fee."

"The host met me and supported parking as I arrived. The room was clean and spacious - the shower was compact but fine. Overall a lovely stay and would recommend and would stay again"

"Beautiful position at base of Haytor Rocks. Parking easy and plenty of room inside and outside no matter what the weather. Staff great. Would recommend try and book with breakfast included. Likely to be a better deal. It is a shame the hotel has yet to install an electric charging point. There is one at an adjacent tourist facility but out or order. Other than that great!"

"A great hotel with an amazing view right on the South Sands beach . Quite a distance from Salcombe if you are walking and the roads around the area are very narrow ( single track) and steep. We used the ferry to get to Salcombe although it only runs until late afternoon and costs £5.50 each way . The food was good and quite reasonably priced. The decor at the hotel was a little tired . Lots of dogs were in residence and were made very welcome. The staff were very helpful and pleasant. Overall...

"Had a lovely night away. Room was clean and nice to have a fridge with fresh milk for coffee etc. Breakfast was delicious and lots of choice. Outside areas are great for relaxing and nice to have an outside pool. In a quiet area but within walking distance to the beach, train station and town. Great hosts. Would definitely recommend. "What a beautiful day this was. The views from the Inn are stunning. I was welcomed by Kevin (the owner) on arrival. I enjoyed a fabulous home-cooked styled curry for dinner (a must have if you are there for curry night). The rooms are clean and nicely set up. Both Kevin and Suzanne are superb hosts. Looking for a great place to stay this is it. I look forward to my return."

"The setting for this hotel is as good as it gets, set on cliff tops overlooking a wonderful sandy beach below. Staff were great, food excellent, strangely, catch of the day was well priced but steak and pork chop overpriced. Our room was wonderful but lacked air-conditioning, was west facing and we were there in another 30 degree plus heatwave, but a fan sufficed. Outdoor pool was excellent but weather so good we didn't get to the spa. Simple to charge the EV , some roads are scary narrow but...

"The room was not very big and the bathroom was very small. The staff were very helpful and friendly."

"Checked out on arrival as the room had no air conditioning and the temperature of the room was at least 45 degrees, we were offered a fan but this would not have helped. The room was also really small, with an unpleasant smell but it was nicely furnished.Requested another room as apparently some rooms do have a.c. (The hallway leading to the room was a pleasant temperature) we were told they were fully booked (although Trivago showed 3 rooms available when we looked for somewhere else)...

"Lack of water in the rooms and limited amount of tea and coffee, for two people. Whilst I understand the need to cut back on extras like this, these are the little things that make the stay special. Impressed by all the staff who greeted us nicely whenever within their space."

"Don’t stay here if you have a baby. Despite having given the hotel the age of my young baby prior to our arrival, and obviously having a pram when we checked in, the first room we were given was down a narrow flight of stairs which was very difficult to carry a pram up/down safely. We complained and were initially told to leave the pram outside reception. I pointed out that would mean we may have to carry a lot of things up and down the stairs whilst carrying a baby also- not safe. They then...
