Location- In the heart of Arnolds Park and walkable to everything! Many know this property as "Artsy Tartsy" or "The Little Red House on Highway 71" (with the zebra stripes!). Built in 1926, this historic cottage was recently renovated and restored with the attention to local history and authenticity. This home has tons of character which is reflected throughout and is 4 bedrooms and 2 baths.


- The main floor features a front solarium enclosed with wall to wall windows with two quaint seating areas. There are original maple hardwood floors throughout the first floor. Tastefully decorated with treasures sourced from local shops and local artists.
- The main living room features a large and comfortable seating area with custom leather sectional, adjoining harvest table (seats 8) and is flanked on one side by a gas fireplace and on the other by a leaded crystal chandelier.

- There is a full kitchen equipped with modern stainless appliances, gas range, dishwasher, and century old butcher block. The kitchen is properly equipped to meet cooking and food preparation needs for a long weekend or week.

- There is a queen bedroom on the first floor adjacent to the first floor tiled bathroom/shower.

- The back entry features all glass with original stonework and is an excellent drop zone after a long day on the lake.

- This opens to a courtyard patio, equipped with a Weber gas grill, and a Weber charcoal kettle grill.

- The second floor features an efficient bunk room which sleeps four. A few steps up is the master bedroom which features a king bed and two sleeping nooks with 4 twin beds. The center wing of the master features a kids sitting and game area with TV and seating.

- The basement features a smaller family room with TV and two single chairs, which pullout into single beds. There is one bedroom, which features two single beds and ample closet space. There is a full bathroom / shower, fully tiled in white with black accents.

- Washer / dryer;
- 2nd fridge / freezer in the basement;
- 65" TV in main living room; SONOS soundbar; WiFi;
- The main house has two outdoor seating areas, one with grills and both peekaboo views of the lake;
- 7 dedicated on-site parking spots (could accommodate parking of trailered boat);
- White noise machines in each bedroom;
- Tuft and needle mattress with alternative down comforters;

Back House: There is an adjacent backhouse to this property that sleeps four. The property has a queen murphy bed with a Tuft and Needle mattress and a queen pull out bed. This backhouse also features a full kitchen, bath, and washer and dryer. There is climate control and television with cable and internet. There are two smaller outdoor seating areas for the backhouse. This backhouse rents separately. If you add on this property with the house it will accommodate 20 total. PROPERTIES ARE BOOKED SEPARATELY. MAIN HOUSE RESERVATION DOES NOT AUTOMATICALLY INCLUDE THE BACKHOUSE.

Advanced Payment of 50% is due at the time of booking. Remaining Balance due 30 days prior to your arrival. Failure to remit final rental payment by scheduled due date may result in cancellation of your reservation
All payments are refundable prior to the cancelation due dates. To protect your rental investment, we strongly encourage purchasing travel insurance. No refunds will be given for late arrivals, early departures, no shows, or cleaning or maintenance concerns. If present and reported, all cleaning or maintenance concerns will be corrected promptly.
Service fees may apply to guests who reserve online with a third party booking website. Third party services fees are not controlled nor collected by Okoboji Vacation Company, and as such are not reflected on reservation statements provided by Okoboji Vacation Company.
A cancellation fee of 50% will be charged to the traveler if canceled between 60 days and 31 days prior to arrival. Reservations canceled within 30 days of arrival will result in no refund.
A refundable security deposit of $300 may be charged on reservations. Guests will be responsible for all intentional damage to include but not limited to broken items, soiled or misplaced linens, loss of keys, theft, or failure to remove garbage from the property, or leaving the property excessively dirty. Confetti or glitter is not allowed in the property.

Property had damage when we arrived. Broken kind on hand rail going upstairs. Bedroom lift door was hard to close (needs to be cut shorter so it does not rub on carpet). Found a 9mm unspent bullet in grandkids room.

Cleanliness was not up to par, foundation of the home appears to be shifting which resulted in the basement doors not closing, basement bathroom nearly flooded, leftover garbage remained from previous guests. The location was great and near downtown bars!

We had a party of 14 and absolutely loved our stay. The house was stocked with so many items! Coffee, hair products, pots and pans, etc. etc. which made our stay less stressful. We cooked a lot at the home at restaurants in Okoboji tend to have a long wait and food isn’t the best. The location is so close to everything. Walking and driving. We loved all the nooks and outdoor area to have coffee or read. We can’t wait to book another stay at this house! Thank you!
