"A great value for money hotel, room was clean and comfortable, the whole building is really warm, so be prepared,! The showers are far to hot for me, but my friend loves them, so its a personal thing, but they dont really go any cooler than Moulton Lava! Breakfast was amazing value for money and exceptionally tasty, the staff are all friendly and helpful. "This was a lovely stay in a beautiful location with access to boat rides and steam train. From here we visited Keswick, Ambleside and other towns in the Lake District including a must visit to Beatrix Potter’s house Hilltop. The hotel itself does feel a bit dated. The hotel room lacks the usual facilities of a four star hotel like no air con, no fridge and limited plug sockets. "We had a great 6 day stay at the Damson Dene. All the staff are super friendly. Had a couple of SPA treatments with Sharon, they were amazing and so reasonable priced. The food in the hotel was superb. The breakfast was plentiful and the evening meals were delicious. The only issue we had was with housekeeping. Over the six days we were there they only made up our room twice. Once we did put the "do not disturb" up as my husband wasn't feeling great. I had to request for them to go in on...

"Good price for double room and breakfast. It looks like they are refurbishing the place so a strange reception area. Broken glass in main door boarded up so not a great first impression. Bed was comfy but was quite noisy outside at the front with smokers laughing and talking as if was so hot had the windows open. Would stay here again as parking outside and price."

"Would definitely visit again! We had a free room upgrade and it was a significant improvement on the room we had anticipated - thank you very much! The room looked a little tired and so were some of the corridor/stair areas too. Our wasn't perfectly clean - the windows, mirrors and a large crisp was fairly obvious but overall, it was good. "The property is a lovely place that has kept its unique original features. The Victorian facades and interior are refreshingly maintained. The staff are all very welcoming and genuinely friendly. Well located in a rural spot but 5 minutes walk into town, via the sea front promenade."

"Room disappointing., very clincal. Booked king room with kitchenette. There is no comfortable seating area. Shower room is good quality and modern. Bed is rock hard and uncomfortable. Kitchenette is lacking most basic items. Cheapest of plastic drinking + wine glasses?. Main door directly onto car park is positioned a couple of feet from the bed, the glass window in + above the door flood in light during the night which is very disturbing."
