"I flew into phoenix, as I am driving towards the property I start to notice the area is a bit sketch. I then see the property and start to question where I had reserved my stay. As I am checking in the young man at reception is not friendly. On the wall behind the reception there are all these signs like; No one within a 45 mile radius will be allowed to check in, no one other than guests in guest rooms and breakfast cannot be taken to rooms, that was amongst other signages. I get checked in....

"Spacious room. My room didn't look as nice as the one pictured. Lotion pump was empty. Nice this place had a parking lot and was close enough to downtown Phoenix. More like a motel than a hotel though. Decent rates for a downtown Phoenix "hotel"."

"I would strongly recommend this hotel . Great location and the suites are very nice. Staying in the main floor is not a good idea. Can’t really see outside and the 3 rooms we tried all had saggy mattresses. When we were moved up to the 3rd floor it was grand!!lots of light overlooking the pool and most importantly, we had a very good mattress.

"Airport shuttle got a flat and we were on our own to get to the airport. Found out 10 minutes before we were set to go to the airport. I would think the hotel should reimburse us for the Uber fare. Although stressful, the Uber driver got us to the airport in time for us to check our luggage. Thanks Uber."

"Always love staying at this place. The staff is very accommodating and wonderful. We stayed in one of the luxury suites this time up towards the top that had amazing views! Love the layout and everything about it. The only thing we didn’t like on this particular trip was this particular bed was very firm. Made for some kind of sleepless nights. Other than that, the experience is always great and we will keep coming back."

"Everything was very nice except for the person duty when we checked in, his mood was unprofessional and unpleasant. The hotel’s location is the best and the decor is so unique and fun! The free drink card was a very nice touch! Room was quiet, cooled perfectly and bed was comfortable. I would the hotel and just hope you are greeted properly when you check in! Didn’t ruin our time, it was vacation! "

"Learned after my stay that the Hotel San Carlos is one of the most haunted hotels in the US, lol. We were even put into room 723 which is next to the haunted rooms of 720 and 722. The 7th floor hallways did remind me of Disneyland's Haunted House since this is an older Hotel with a lot of the original decor.
