The Boat House: Wine Country + Lake Living + Perfect Couples Retreat!

Located midway between historical Seneca Falls, and “gorges” Ithaca, The Boat House is the perfect couple's retreat, or singles getaway. Whether you're coming for a wine tour, you're spending the day at beautiful Taughannock Falls State Park or your main goal is to relax and enjoy the views of Cayuga Lake – this lake home has something for everyone.

This recently remodeled tiny home is boasting with beautiful wood flooring, and gorgeous panoramic lake views. Pop a bottle of your new favorite Finger Lakes wine and enjoy “lake life” at its best.

An open living space is adorned in beautiful shades of grey and white. Custom cabinetry, and classic white subway tile accent the kitchen. If you're dining in, stop at local roadside stand and pick up fresh produce for mealtime. Completing the entry level, you'll find a perfectly tiled bathroom with stand up shower and rain shower head.

Upstairs, comfort and luxury meet. A queen size bed offers the perfect cozy setting for laying your head to rest each evening.

The Boat House is merely a few steps away from the splashing waves of Cayuga Lake! The lake will be calling you throughout your stay with plenty of natural, pebble beach that will be all yours. You'll have no problem enjoying the cool, clear water of Cayuga Lake with the provided canoe and kayak. While you're in town, make sure to head over to The Boat Yard Grille, or the Wolffy's Grill and Marina – both are local foodie favorites. The Beer Garden is just two minutes away and offers live music on weekends. Goose Watch Winery, Buttonwood Grove, and Cayuga Ridge Estate are also just a quick jaunt away for a glass of local Finger Lakes wine. Call and make your reservation at The Boat House today!

Occupancy: This property is closely monitored for responsible renting. The maximum occupancy of each home is the number of guests allowed on the premises at any given time. This includes both day and overnight guests.

Note:
1. Smoking is not allowed in any rental property. This includes vaping and e-cigarettes.
2. Homes are not handicap accessible, unless stated in the description.
3. Air conditioning is not available unless listed as an amenity. If available, air conditioning is considered a seasonal amenity and is only available May 15 - October 15.
4. Where pets are allowed it is indicated. Otherwise, pets are not allowed. Homes are not guaranteed allergen-free, even those that do not allow pets.
5. Docking capabilities may vary based on current water levels. Docking is not guaranteed if water levels are low and/or high due to seasonal weather and climate changes.

Has great sunrise, trails to walk, and a boat launch close by. Close to wineries & breweries and also great water falls. Just wish it had blinds or curtains on the windows. Great for couples looking for great views and close to wineries and breweries and also fishing

Had a very relaxing stay right on the water with the waves crashing and cool breeze. House was easy to get to and within close proximity to all the wineries and breweries that we wanted. House was clean and as outlined in the listing and even caught a couple perch fishing from the dock. Had a great time!

We needed to stay in the area for an unexpected baseball tournament and wished to stay far from the busy hotel scene. The boathouse was a perfect choice. Morning coffee on the pier was exactly what we needed. Quiet and simple accommodations.

Overall the house is excellent, it is secluded, quiet and has a nice pier. You are right on the water. Inside there are a few minor issues but I'm sure the management will address them. The main issue is the listing says it is air conditioned with it 'sort of is'. This is a renovated barn and with the A/C on the ceiling on the first floor it does NOT get to the lofted sleeping area. There should be at least a fan up there to pull the cooler air up. You can open the windows but then you let the cool air out of downstairs. Other than that the shower is awesome, the kitchen is well equipped and the property is easily accessible. The property maintenance manager is awesome and he provided a lot of good 'area' advice.

Perfect for a parents-only retreat! The sound of the waves was so soothing, and the views are amazing. The location is a bit far from hiking, most wineries, and “town”, but if that is what you’re after, then this is the perfect spot! Highly recommend going mid-fall!

We don’t know how it’s possible to accurately describe how much we loved this property. This rental was exactly what my husband and I were looking for as we celebrated our one year wedding anniversary. As soon as we drove down the long driveway and pulled up to the Boat House, I was already in love with the place. The simplicity and cleanliness of the interior was definitely a bonus as well. A renters starter kit (towels, soaps, etc) and a complimentary finger lakes wine was also waiting for us on the counter when we entered. For couples who love nature, the outdoors, the simplicity of life, the sound of the lake waves throughout the night, hiking, wine, wonderful food, and being able to begin/end each day at this very private location..it is just a dream rental…a little slice of heaven! The 4 hour drive from our home was extremely worth it. This was a magical weekend and we hope to rent here again in the future! Thank you to the owners and the FLPP management for sharing this beautiful property with us! Tara & Sean Coughlin

We had a great experience. Loved the area . Being right there on the water was great. All went pretty good except miscommunication with the grounds keeper and agency ... They had 2 days of our vacation taking trees down and unloading stone . Which was a small disappointment. We had to stay away especially on tree cutting day. Otherwise we loved staying there

My husband and I went to the Boathouse for our anniversary. It was such a beautiful location on Cayuga Lake and we were pleasantly surprised at the privacy the property offered. The adjacent property is a state boat ramp, but we found there was only light traffic there and it was fun to watch the boats go in and out. The sunrises over the lake were absolutely stunning and every night we drifted off to sleep listening to the sound of the waves on the shore. We did notice that there weren't any chairs in the house that looked comfortable. That was my only reservation about the place and we brought folding camping rocking chairs which solved the problem! We would definitely stay here again!

We loved the privacy of this tiny house. We especially loved watching the moon rise and shine. The boats coming and going out of Dean’s cove gave us plenty of entertainment along with the wildlife and kayaking. We visited Taugahannock, Trumansburg falls and walked the Northern trail, Cornell Campus, Thirsty Owl and Sheldrake wineries. My husband voted Wolfies best fish fry sandwich, he had several from different restaurants. I had the best salad at the Bistro at the Thirsty Owl. We liked Muranda Cheese, O’Malley’s Pub, The Gould, and Connie’s Diner. We did more sightseeing of the area but I liked sitting on the dock back at the Lake House most of all. We are married 35 years this year and we were apprehensive about 500 square feet but we made it and will never forget it, thank you!
