"Drop dead gorgeous lake without the jammed, crowded lake houses so many other Minnesota lakes offer. Unique island location. The sauna was immensely popular with everyone. Special feeling to float in the lake at night after the sauna experience. Armada of toys and games kept the young ones engaged. Kayaks and paddle boards. Two fridges were ever so helpful when you have a party of 12 as we did. Communication with the host was lightning-fast and friendly. The island is a magnet for fish. Overall,...

"Excellent communication throughout the process beginning with making reservations to checking out. The cabins were clean, staff friendly, lots of activities to do on site. The breakfast was amazing! I loved the fire pits setup. Highly recommend this place. It was close enough to Detroit Lakes and other towns that had activity available like the beach. "

"We had a great time. Everything you would expect from a Minnesota Cabin. The lake was nice and caught several nice fish...we put them back so they're still in there. Dog loved it. Too hot for the hot tub but looked well kept and perfect for cooler weather. We'd go back again. Friendly neighbors/people passing by on the lake. There was one restaurant about 15 minutes away. Brought a George Foreman and that worked out nice for cooking. There was a grill but never used it/looked at it....

"The bed is wonderfully comfortable. We loved the spacious bathroom. Plenty of natural light. Great location right outside the park entrance. We recommend it!"

"My husband and I along with our two boys (ages 16 and 14) stayed at Sandy Pines for three nights. The boys enjoyed fishing on the lake (we brought our own boat). Our boys also took the kayaks out and fished some on their own. The view from the deck was a perfect spot to sit and drink your coffee in the morning. Amy had EVERYTHING you needed to make this cabin home for your stay. The cabin was very clean. We would definitely stay there again! "

We thoroughly enjoyed fishing, kayaking, boating, swimming, paddle boarding and floating on Lake Pickerel, along with great bonfires and making s’mores in the evening with a beautiful view of the lake. "We just wrapped-up our week long family vacation at Jewel Lodge on Mantrap Lake. This home is a true jewel, as it addressed everything our large group needed for a fantastic week. The home is beautiful, extremely well equipped and easily accommodated a group of 18 people (8 kids under 11). John and Wendy are great hosts and were quick to answer any questions and assist with any needs the group had. Everyone had a great time and are already looking forward to next year's stay!"
