"Drop dead gorgeous lake without the jammed, crowded lake houses so many other Minnesota lakes offer. Unique island location. The sauna was immensely popular with everyone. Special feeling to float in the lake at night after the sauna experience. Armada of toys and games kept the young ones engaged. Kayaks and paddle boards. "We were lucky to find Big Timbers for our Itasca State Park weekend. The location is ideal being right across the street from the North entrance. The rooms perfect size for a small family or couple. Everything was new and clean and we had everything we needed for a great stay. We loved the ice cream and pizza from the store on site. "

"The cabin is warm, inviting and cozy with all the modern conveniences. Even my kids will drink the water from either the tap or the fridge. Private setting, a few ATVs drove by, neighboring homes not visible or loud. Only mental note I’ve made is that the road immediately leading to the cabin is soft, much better suited to a truck/SUV than a sedan. We will drive a different vehicle next time."

The pillows kept falling down in the space under the headboard. The water pressure in the shower was only so-so at best. The temperature was very good. Lots of space in the unit - girlfriend suggested a small chest of drawers to unpack stuff into. We did have great interaction with Christine (owner) at the next door ice...

"Best cabin any of the 12 people in our group has ever stayed. The original walk through the cabin had everyone in awe. Many places both indoor and outside for everyone to hang out. Tons of space to spread out with gathering spots for everyone to be together. After 30 years of renting several different properties for our annual spring get together, we have found a new landing spot to enjoy for years to come. "
