Northwoods A-Frame Cabin Near Itasca State Park

Welcome to Northwoods A-Frame.

As you enter the A-Frame, you’ll notice natural light throughout the main level and loft. The main level has one bedroom and one full bathroom with a walk-in tiled shower. The kitchen opens to the living space and there is a wood-burning stove for use in the colder months. The basement has one bedroom with a queen bed and a full bathroom. The upstairs loft has one bedroom with a queen bed and a half bathroom.

The kitchen is fully equipped with a gas stove, coffee/tea bar, and all essentials needed to cook/bake. Grab a recipe or two and buy groceries on your way to Northwoods. We have a recipe box and would love to have you add your favorite recipes (cards provided)!

Sit on the back deck overlooking the woods, roast marshmallows over the campfire, and spend as much time as you can in nature getting refreshed. If you are coming to Northwoods to ‘work from home’, we will have Wi-Fi but highly encourage you to take as many breaks as you can.

In the basement of the A-Frame is the Makerspace. It is a room for you to do just that, make! Some of our best ideas and creativity has flowed from time away and we wanted to provide an opportunity for that for you. This room has art supplies or sit in the arch to read or journal. If you post to social media from this room, use the hashtag #NWmakerspace.

Northwoods is a place where you can spend time with your people, enjoy activities, and celebrate old and new traditions. Bake pizza on the second night of vacation, trying a new board game together, or taking a hike and learning about different types of trees. The star gazing is also incredible!

Itasca State Park and the Mississippi Headwaters are ten minutes away. While we do not have a lake on our property, there is ample opportunity to bring your fishing pole and drop a line close by. You are welcome to bring a kayak or canoe and there is a place in Itasca State Park to rent them as well.

The A-Frame is not pet friendly. If you would like to bring your pet, Wald (one of the Tiny Cabins at Northwoods) is pet friendly.

Northwoods is on 40 acres in northern Minnesota where wildlife is common. Small woodland creatures we see are porcupines, foxes, raccoons, etc. We also have seen deer, wolves, and bears on the property. When you book with us, we will send more information in our welcome letter.
