"We checked in for an evening wedding. As we entered the room, we heard a dog barking. The dog continued to bark and howl. We showered, dressed and left for the wedding with the hope that the owners would return and dog would be quiet. No luck. Also, there was pink slime in a corner of the shower."

This little hotel is Five stars for the money. The breakfast is the same stuff you would get at a Holiday Inn express, but the rooms are absolutely lovely. This hotel is also conveniently located to a walkable little shopping area, where you'll find an organic grocery and a really good burger spot."

"I think it was nice and clean but I cannot believe what I paid for three nights vs what I could have got. It was great being on Franklin street but honestly the building was a bit more older than what I was expecting for the price. Again, it was nice but I found a luxury apartment with so much more space after the fact that was 1/3 of the price"

"Poor plumbing!! The sink kept clogging up..there were hair on the “clean” towels!! Overall the place seems to be falling apart from neglect!! The carpet smells super musty!! However, the location is great!!"

"There were roaches in my room. They changed me to an upper floor and upgraded my room but there were still roaches. Did not like the hotel but the staff was very nice and professional."

"The staff were nice and our stay was fine overall. Two things require improvements: 1) the hallways frequently smelled very bad. 2) It’s impossible to relax in outdoor areas if other guests are allowed to play videos or music (loudly) on speaker. I would suggest putting up clear signs that having one’s phone on speaker in common areas is not allowed and actually enforcing it."

"Rooms were super clean and hotel lobby as well. Location is excellent. There were many college kids there for a taekwondo competition so breakfast was packed. Otherwise, very happy there."

"Paying for Parking and the payment process was not expected. I can see paying for valet service, but paying to self park in a small southern town seems a bit much. Plus the "threat" of being towed was a HUGE turn off. EVERY other hotel in the area offers free parking...EVEN the Carolina Inn and it is on campus!"

"We really like the homewood suites brand and look forward to the expected amenities- this one was in a great location but could use a bit of refreshment. Not sure why the hallways have the exposed wiring at the ceiling wall. Breakfast was nice but not as extensive as other locations such as Dallas/ Fort Worth. We had a very long walk from our unit 329 to lobby/ breakfast area. Overall rating is good and I would stay again "
