"We had a wonderful stay at this special spot in Golden Bay. The views of the estuary and bay were absolutely stunning, with ever-changing light and beauty throughout the day. The location is perfect—close to Collingwood and Farewell Spit, yet peaceful and secluded. The beds were incredibly comfortable, and the shower was one of the best we've experienced.A highlight was listening to Ruru calling at night and watching a lightning storm move across the bay after dark—an unforgettable experience....

"This was an awesome place to host 80th celebration- plenty of room for 8 adults and teenagers to be together or escape if they needed to. Great to have use of kayaks and pool table. Parapara as location ' close to Vollingwood, Wharariki beach or back to Takak. "

"The communication about the layout of the property could have been better. There is no internal access to the downstairs rooms. There is no WIFI - in this day and age - you really should have WIFI (especially for when the weather is inclement in Golden Bay - which is often is). The TV is just a screen to play DVD's - there is no channel service. We weren't told you can't drink the water until the morning we got the check-in instructions - it was Easter Friday - so we couldn't buy bottled...

"We had a nice time in Takaka and exploring the area. Comfy beds and a good size place for a family holiday. The house and surrounding gardens needed a bit of TLC. It wasn't as clean as we would have hoped. Just needs a bit of a spruce - cobwebs definitely need to be swept away! Probably wouldn't choose to stay here again unfortunately."

"Looks great online but the reality was quite a disappointment. The cabin was not as well appointed as I had thought given the cost, all a bit cheap and plasticky. The floor was sort of buckled and uneven in places and as such the door was a challenge to close. The container got quite hot as the weather was so good, but there was no air conditioning and no fly screens, so opening the windows meant I had to contend with some big bugs late at night (moths and cicadas). " A lovely 2 bedroom cottage with all the amenities needed. The beds are comfortable, as was the sofa for watching TV. I do like a washcloth, but most cottages don’t have them. And some face tissue would have been nice, but overall a lovely stay. Great communication, no problem getting in or finding it. The pub down the road serves great food and a general store very close by. A coffee shop a little further opens at 8 with excellent scones"

"We had a fabulous time with family that we have not seen in over 15 years . So was a good time to catch up and reflect on the good things that we all have.The stay was fantastic and the house was great besides the squeaky beds but it was very comfortable and everyone had a lot of fun.Many thanks."

"The place was clean and tidy, well set up for a large group. Sadly my Dad and I arrived late at night so didn’t get to really experience the property much but I could imagine it being a wonderful escape for a big family or group of friends to enjoy. Walking distance to shops, cafes and the local pub/restaurant as well as the Farewell Spit tour company (which is why we were late arriving).
