"Ideal location for the town and the New forest. Just a walk across the road and you are in the New forest. Lots of parking available. Staff were lovely and friendly. There is a bus stop right outside in case you do not drive or wish not to drive. We did have breakfast and dinner, both of which were very good. Caters for breakfast and dinner and has a bar. Room was clean, had everything that you needed. This hotel allows dogs. There was no smell of dogs throughout the building and not one dog...

"Breakfast service was a little chaotic due to the numbers of residents eating in one sitting, with only 3 members of staff on duty. The selection and quality of food however was very good. The staff are always busy but extremely approachable and will always help if there is an issue. The rooms are clean, a little basic but comfortable. The swimming pool is very good and a huge asset to the hotel. The hotel is ideally suited for walking into the town of Lyndhurst, just a few minutes walk away....

"Lovely pub and restaurant with well appointed rooms adjoining. Very friendly and helpful staff. The room decor was Scandi-style - very attractive as well as sufficiently comfortable. Lovely view over the garden and beyond to the woods from my room window."

"Upon entering, the room smelt strongly of mould and damp. There was mould all over the bedroom window and the smell also came from the bathroom. The bathroom door latch didn't work, so the door didn't stay closed. The bathroom extractor fan is caked with dust, the bath looks like it hadn't been cleaned, the panel looks incomplete and the grouting is mouldy in the shower. "The hotel was lovely and welcoming. The staff couldn’t do enough to help and the night staff even keep the bar open as long as you want. The room was very pleasant, clean, and comfortable. The bar could use some more “bar friendly” seating rather than tables like a restaurant but this is a very small “not perfect” to call out. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here and I would eagerly return. Set in one of the nicest parts of the country with beautiful surroundings."

"This is a 15th Century building with the stable block converted into accommodation. The room we occupied was very large with all the usual amenities, pristine clean with a huge comfortable bed. The breakfast menu was comprehensive as was the dinner menu. My only suggestion is that a help yourself coffee and tea facility would enhance its facilities.Excellent hotel at the price."
