Possibly some of the rooms were more style than substance as not practical in places. Some maintenance issues regarding loose tap in Room 3 . Do note : Avoid room 12 especially in hot weather as incredibly hot!! Poor ventilation & a pathetic fan which just blew around warm air. We asked to be moved after experiencing the worst night’s...

"The positives were the airy room and lovely garden. The big negative was the buffet breakfast which they proudly claim to be award-winning. The reality is that for a 4 star hotel, the quality and range of options was extremely poor. Too many short cuts and cost cutting. The veggie options were limitd and not displayed on the tables and there were no extras (eg crushed avocado) even if you were willing to pay a bit extra. There was no fruit yogurt in individual pots and no higher quality healthy...

"We had a wonderful experience staying here during our time in Southampton. The property itself is lovely, and the team working here goes above and beyond to make you feel welcome. Our room was absolutely spotless, which is always a huge plus. The daily breakfast was delicious with plenty of options, and the location made exploring so easy. We were surrounded by shops and attractions all within a short walk."

"Food poisoning the first night, rooms hotter than the sun, zero water pressure in the bathrooms. Constantly chasing staff for the most simple things. They ran out of ice. No fans for the rooms. No one collecting glasses or emptying an ash tray. Asked for a coffee in the morning and waited 15 minutes.. got up to ask where it was "oh i couldn't find you" yeah because you were in the kitchen flirting with the chef.. Could be such a wonderful place, if the staff weren't recreating Fawlty Towers"
