"Good location for an overnight stay."

"The rooms were so hot couldn’t be helped in this heat but couldn’t sleep art all , gave us a fan but it wasn’t much good , breakfast was ok but on the first morning run out of orange juice and coffee machine wasn’t working that well . On the Saturday there was a wedding party music was loud into the night nobody told us in advance"

"We stayed at the White Star for only One night and throughly enjoyed it. Great location. Lovely rooms with a comfortable bed. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. We also enjoyed a dinner & breakfast in the restaurant. Both delicious meals. Highly recommend this place."

"Room very clean & tidy looks like a recent refurbish which was very well done , the only thing was the mattresses could do with renewing , which is the only negative thing to say about our stay was able to help ourselves to tea ,coffee etc when needed . "Good atmosphere and history (Titanic connections). Restaurant yummy. Rate hotel down just a bit due to a towel warmer in bathroom which made entire bedroom warm, so had to crank down AC. Mattress not great. Woke up with stiff back. Also rate down when asking front desk about a shuttle bus which might take us to our cruise ship, was met with a response of “I have no idea; I’ve never been on a cruise.”"

"Who was contemporary and nicely designed? The room was extremely hot. No air conditioning 80° plus. I asked them to fix the air conditioner. They told me that they couldn’t do anything about it, and they offered to give me another fan but we already had two fans in the room. I don’t think that room was worth $280. Very disappointing."

Location was adequate with goid access to the train station and a lengthy (30 minutes) walk to the old town center. For the American travelers, the hotel does not provide wash cloths with the towels. "We were in Southampton on one of the hottest days of the year. The hotel is not air conditioned. A small fan was provided, but it was an unbearably uncomfortable night and neither of us were able to sleep. I have stayed at the Novotel numerous times over the past two decades and the hotel is increasingly dated and tired, especially the bathrooms. Considering increasingly hot summers, the owners of the hotel should invest in Air Conditioning."

Unfortunately, the standard of maintenance disappointed and ws exposed by the hot oppressive atmosphere in the building and in our room in particular.
