Spacious and stylish cottages located on the Northumberland Coast

Spacious and stylish nestled in one of Northumberland’s most popular destinations, Amble By The Sea. Woodbine Retreat has it all! Surrounded by golden sandy beaches, acres of natural beauty, and historic landscapes!.

Situated a stone’s throw from the Amble harbour; known locally as ’the friendliest port’, this delightful abode provides deceptively spacious holiday accommodation which has been designed and finished to a high standard. This holiday retreat is tastefully furnished throughout and oozes charm with beautiful, homely touches.

Put your feet up in the cosy living room and settle with a tipple whilst watching a good film on the Smart TV.

The kitchen/ diner to the rear is particularly well appointed and a great social hub; and to the chefs delight all the necessary appliances on hand to rustle up some hearty dishes for the family to enjoy.

Retire upstairs to one of the three bedrooms. The master is a double room, the second bedroom has a single bed, and the third bedroom is a double room with plenty of storage. Freshen up in the bathroom and take your pick from a relaxing bath or an invigorating shower.

Start your adventure from Amble; a delightful, friendly, seaside town which has a selection of pubs and restaurants for that fine dining experience, as well as several independent shops and supermarkets for picking up any last-minute essentials.

The quayside in Amble has a Sunday weekly market and is home to the Harbour Village where small independent shopping pods sell a range of arts, crafts, accessories, food, and drink. Head to the RPSB reserve of Coquet Island to discover puffins, terns and eider ducks, and take a boat ride around the island to see it from a unique perspective, while wildlife lovers will also relish the chance to explore the Hauxley Wildlife Discovery Centre and birdwatching opportunities are prominent at Druridge Bay.

Six miles North brings you to the quaint town of Alnmouth, a popular coastal village known for its excellent 18-hole golf course and its charming cycle routes. Stop off at one of the blissful beer gardens and soak in the glorious scenery. Further afield brings you into the thriving market town of Alnwick with its medieval Castle and outstanding natural beauty.


Alnwick Castle has been featured as a filming location in a variety of films, including Harry Potter and Downtown Abbey. Alnwick has various other tourist hotspots including Barter Books and the Magical Treehouse. Another main attraction is the Alnwick Gardens with its stunning landscaped gardens, the famous Poison Garden, and impressive waterfalls.

Hulne Park is the perfect choice with 3,000 acres of pretty Parkland, Gothic tower, and breath-taking views. In the midst of the park, you will find a Priory, Brizlee Tower, and The Abbey - an explorer’s paradise! New Year break

Just me and Mrs P & our dog Reggie. 3 nights in Amble.Lovely little house, close to town centre, short walk to sea.Couple of Good bars, some decent eateries.Weather was Awful, but we managed to get out and about and enjoyed a relaxing few days.

Christmas stay 2024

Our group was reduced from 4 to 2 persons, so there was plenty of room & the cottage was very clean, warm & comfortable. The Christmas tree & decorations were tasteful and a lovely hamper, which included mince pies & wine, was a generous gesture. Would definitely recommend and we would love to stay again to explore more of the fabulous Northumberland coast.

Stain on carpet

first thing we noticed when entering the living room was a stain on the carpet (date stamp photo taken ) cutlery not very clean .I would be helpful if there where some instructions for the heating ,cooker ,the internet was very poor or is that just the area

Lovely house situation very handy for Amble marina and harbour village.

Lovely property everything we needed only downside was that there was no first aid box, unfortunately one of our group had a bad fall making our way back to the house and while we waited for the ambulance we needed some cleansing wipes or bandages and there wasn’t anything. It would be handy to have a small supply of first aid equipment.
