A perfect location for a quiet get away

We saw the pictures online, but when we drove up the hill into the woods and saw the cabin it took our breath away. We walked in and felt like it was made just for us. It was clean, welcoming, and so well decorated. The little touches made it feel inviting. The theme throughout was trees and woods, just like the surroundings. The Sweet Sage Retreat is situated on acres of land and is so quiet. The upstairs bedroom has a queen bed and windows with views. We choose the downstairs king bed because with the lights out, it is silent and as dark as you need. My wife is ultra sensitive to light and sound and this was a sanctuary for her. This 5 day 4 night stay was our first vacation with just the 2 of us (70 years old, married 47 years) for over 10 years. My wife doesn't travel well, but we recently bought an Outback it has allowed us to be comfortable, so this is our first trip were she has felt decent. She enjoyed just being in the living room on the top floor with the great views. We were a 20 minute ride to Logan for shopping and meals out. We were less than 15 minutes to Ash Cave and Cedar Falls and a little further to Old Man's Cave. My wife was able to go on two outings of hiking. I am a birder and had my binoculars wherever we went. From the cabin's deck and walking down the drive I was able to identify over 25 species of birds. I gave the owner a list of what I found.

I can not begin to express how lovely my stay was at the cabin. Check in was a breeze and the communication was amazing!! Cabin is located amongst the trees in a breathtaking location. Trails are all within 10 minutes from this cabin. Cabin was spotless upon arrival and conveniently stocked. We were impressed how comfortable the beds are. The hot tub was clean and cover is easily removed. The downstairs is a wonderful delight. Perfect for 2 couples. The pull out sofa was cozy when watching TV. I can not wait to for a return stay.

Hocking hills

Fantastic cabin in hocking hills. Very clean and secluded cabin with lots of extras. Has a hot tub and a cool game room with a bundence of movies to choose from. My family enjoyed every bit of this cabin. I would definatly go back and highly recommended.

Slice of Heaven

Four of us made our way to the Hocking Hills area for our first visit to the area and Little Sage Retreat was the perfect home away from home. Anna and her husband have made the most peaceful, welcoming little cabin. She welcomed us before arrival and checked in to make sure all was well. Additionally, any question you might have, is already answered in the guide she has so thoughtfully curated with everything to expect in the cabin to dining options and activities. The cabin is well outfitted for your relaxing needs to a fully equipped kitchen, screened in hot tub, fire pit, and balcony. We loved being at the top of the hill amongst the trees, listening and watching the birds. We also spotted some deer and were able to get some star gazing in, a wonderful little oasis!

Excellent updated Cabin Experience

We had a fantastic time at Sweet Sage. Love that it is updated, and loved the finishes. Great experience for us as a family. Our daughter loved having her own space as a tween! Great cabin not far from the caves we enjoyed the quality family time! Thanks Anna for making everything so smooth! We would highly recommend.

Perfect cabin at a perfect location

Clean cabin that is perfect for small family or two couples. Our 13 year old son has the basement to himself and loved it. Was able to cook a full meal without issues. Location is outstanding for access to all trails in Hocking Hills

Secluded weekend getaway

Very nice cabin with a view, secluded and quiet. The driveway is steep, so when the host says 4 wheel drive preferably in weather, its not an over statement. Loved the basement/second bedroom and game area!

Great Cabin

This cabin was amazing for two couples or a family! The cabin itself had so many fun things, tons of games, hot tub, and awesome secluded views! Definitely would recommend this cabin and the host is fantastic, made the whole process super easy!

Grateful Getaway

This cabin was extremely well maintained and beautifully decorated. It was nicely secluded and quiet. We enjoyed the hot tub , games and other amenities available. It was a great place to come back and celebrate after getting engaged during our hike !! Sweet Sage Retreat will always have a special place in our t hearts!

Peaceful Spot

We will definitely be returning to this cabin. It was little but a perfect space for my husband and I to have peaceful and quiet time. Owners were very responsive and even checked in to make sure everything was okay! Hidden little gem.

Great place to stay!

We stayed with friends and this place is perfect! Very clean and welcoming. Had the basics for what we needed. One bedroom/bath on main floor and the other on the lower level which gave us each our own area for privacy. Hot tub is covered and was perfect for our rainy evening. Host is great with communication. Only drawbacks is that the area is remote and GPS won’t work, so you will have to rely on good old fashioned directions and maps. Host provides excellent directions, though. Just be sure to take a screenshot and be familiar with them. Would totally recommend!

Everything you need for a relaxing getaway!

We were really pleased with everything about Sweet Sage cabin. Everything you need for a relaxing getaway was right there or if we wanted to head out to dinner or the trails, it was a short drive. The cabin was VERY CLEAN, which is really important and gives you lots of confidence in how well maintained the cabin is overall. Definitely a place we would stay again.

Cute and Clean Cabin

Cabin looks tiny from the outside but that’s pretty deceptive. There’s a whole lower level behind the narrow door just next to the front door (honestly, we almost ignored it thinking it was a closet!) The cabin is very nicely decorated and welcoming. Anna, the host, is very attentive and shows great preparation and values communication prior to your arrival and during your stay. There are lots of DVDs and games and thoughtful notes around. The hot tub is nice and clean. We used it frequently during our stay. Pros: The cabin is clean and fairly well stocked. Towels, extra blankets, and basic supplies are provided (TP, paper towels, and dish soap/sponge). In addition, there are dishes, pots/pans, spices, and some coffee K cups and coffee filters for a small drip coffee maker. The WiFi worked for us all through our stay so you can be connected if you want to. The porch has great views of the property and is a nice place to hang out and just chill. We spotted wild turkeys and white tail deer on the property. Great location for all the sights in Hocking Hills with most being around 10 minutes drive. Good to Know: The king size bed downstairs is very uncomfortable. The inner coils squeak and are super loud-BUT the queen bed upstairs is cozy and the hot tub gets the kinks out. 👍 The host mentioned they are looking for new a new base so it may rectify that issue.

Our best stay in Hocking Hills

Really enjoyed our stay! We have stayed at multiple cabins in Hocking Hills and this one was by far the best. The cabin was super clean, cozy, and private. We loved having coffee on the deck in the morning looking out at the surrounding woods. Basement had a ton of fun games (we liked darts and hookey the best).
