"We booked The Relais Cooden beach via Expedia particularly for its location and spa facilities. We had booked the "Cosy double room" because that was all that was left. On arrival we tried to book spa treatments but there were no available bookings during our three night stay. This was disappointing as there was no mention on the Expedia website that you needed to book in advance. Apparently, guests who booked directly with the hotel enjoyed free use of the spa whereas booking through Expedia...

"I did not realize when booking that this hotel was not convenient to Central London but the staff helped me navigate how to use transit in Gatwick to get where I needed to go. That staff is very kind and accommodating."

"The central forced-air heating had been turned off throughout the hotel after a recent heat wave. When we checked in it was 13°C outside and the room heat would not turn on. The Duty manager was unable to turn it on after five phone call attempts, requiring 20 mins wait each, allthis lasted until past 2AM, and waked-up by this manager calling to see if it was working yet. It was not, it was blowing colder air in to our room. He tried to move us to another room and same issue there, after 30mins...

"Room definitely needed some TLC and a good clean for dust but it did the job for one night where we just basically slept there ! Small room, had to hold the shower head as was coming off the wall, tv didn’t work even after trying to fiddle with the old school aerial 🙄 bedding was clean, bed comfy. Wouldn’t stay again but wasn’t awful if you’re on a budget, it’s an option"

"Wow ..what can I say the most bizarre place ..a real Fawlty Towers vide ..checked in and wondered what I'd done checked in behind 2 really dubious characters ( one of which were asleep on the couch if the foyer) when I left) they seemed to be buying drugs on their phones... I hurried to my room which was actually quite good ..and had a microwave which given there's no restaurant was very useful ... Reception staff very helpful there was one chap drinking beer not sure what he was but he was...

"Visited as we had a family funeral with the wake being held at the Bannatyne hotel. As a family we couldn’t recommend it more, we were given a room upgrade which was lovely. Breakfast was excellent with great choice for everyone. Would definitely stay again."
