Chalet Hannegg Penthouse

Chalet Hannegg is a spacious modern 4 bedroom loft-style penthouse holiday apartment on 2 levels. Ideal for a family group, it’s conveniently located just a short walk from the centre of the family-friendly “car-free” village of Wengen.

This apartment sleeps up to 10 people:

Bedroom 1 - 1 double king-size bed (upper level).
Bedroom 2 - 1 double king-size bed (upper level).
Bedroom 3 - 1 double king-size bed (lower level).
Bedroom 4 - 2 single/twin beds (lower level).
Common spaces - 1 double sofa bed on the open mezzanine level.

All beds are European sizes.

Bathroom 1 - shower and WC (upper level).
Bathroom 2 - bathtub, separate shower and WC (lower level).

Apartment location - only 150m walk downhill from the train station, 100m to the nearest supermarket and 250m to the nursery ski slopes, access to mountain hiking and ski areas is literally on your doorstep!

This unique loft-style top floor apartment boasts striking views from the floor to ceiling windows and large south-facing balcony. Just imagine sunning yourself on a lounger or dining al fresco while enjoying the exquisite views of the Jungfrau mountains and Lauterbrunnen valley.

Inside, contemporary furnishings with bright accents create an atmosphere of fun and casual elegance. An office nook in the upper loft area is a great feature – but be warned – the mountain view is very distracting! A modern, well-equipped kitchen and amenities such as free WiFi, cable TV & DVD player are available for your entertainment. Lots of cosy bedrooms provide restful spaces to recharge after a long day of skiing or hiking. What you should know...

Although Wengen is a "car-free" mountain village, arriving by car is no problem. There is a large multi-storey car park at Lauterbrunnen train station, with trolleys for your luggage and lifts to the station platforms. It is just a 14-minute scenic cog train ride up to Wengen. The trains depart every 30 minutes until 9.30 pm and then hourly. Taxis are available for hire at Wengen train station if you require assistance to your chalet.

For those planning to explore the Jungfrau region, we at Wengen Apartments offer the convenience of purchasing tickets on your behalf. Please contact us before your arrival to arrange this service.

Note that there is a sofa bed on the open mezzanine level for the 9th and 10th guests.

This apartment is located only 3 minutes (150m) downhill and down some steps from central Wengen and the train station.

There is no lift in this chalet.

If you want the authentic Switzerland experience then Chalet Hannegg is your destination. Wengen is the quintessential Swiss town, a quiet car-free village in the mountains. Far enough from the city close enough to access the train to virtually anywhere. The chalet was perfect for our group of 6. We cooked a communal breakfast in front of spectacular view of the mountains and waterfalls. We had enough room to spend the evenings together after long days of hiking and exploring. The chalet was stocked with all the essentials we needed. The bonus was the location; a short walk to the train, grocery store and restaurants. The communication was excellent, easy checking/check out. I would highly recommend getting your Swiss fix at Chalet Hannegg.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 5-day stay in Wengen. The views from the apartment were spectacular, the apartment was clean and well-equipped. We liked being so close to the train station and services, while being in a quiet and peaceful neighborhood. Our host was extremely considerate and responsive. We would rent the Chalet Hannegg Penthouse again should we return to Wengen. Great experience!

Parents and two sons and their spouses spent a week here. The space was very convenient and comfortable. The view was beautiful and amazing. Close to the station, co-op and restaurants.

Perfect place for our family’s first time in the Alps. Lots of hikes in Wengen or accessible by train system. The caretaker answered our text very quickly when we could not figure how to get the fridge to work at 9 pm at night. Wengen also seemed quieter than some of the other villages which was just what we wanted.

The view from multiple rooms of the apartment was spectacular. The space was both roomy and cozy. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to cook in several nights. It was a short walk to the grocery store and train station. So much to see and do in the area. Communication was excellent with the property manager. Perfection.

Two families if 4 stayed for 4 nights in this lovely chalet. There was plenty of room to spread out. The best place to be however is on the patio looking at the view. Magnificent!! This chalet was beautifully appointed & clean. It is located in a perfect area to go shopping or walk to restaurants, and very close to train station & the Coop grocery. So happy that we stayed here! Wengen is a beautiful place to be.

Great stay in this chalet. Met needs very well for extended family ages 6 - 72. Listing description and photos accurate. Beautiful view. Easy access into town with supermarket, several very nice restaurants, ice cream, playgrounds and gondola station to access outstanding hikes throughout the area. (Note that the steps from chalet into town mentioned in several reviews do have railings if needed.) Kids really enjoyed pool. Note that laundry machine is small capacity with wash/dry combined so took a few hours for each load. Beds very comfortable. Excellent communication with Julie prior to trip to answer a number of questions we had. Overall loved our visit - 5 nights not quite enough!

Wunderschönes Appartement, wunderschön gelegen. Einziger negativer Punkt, für den die Wohnung aber nichts kann: da bucht man einen Urlaub in einem autofreien Ort und bei schönem Wetter donnern ohne Pause die Helikopter über einen hinweg, die Sightseeing-Flüge für betuchte Touristen machen - unfassbar!!!

Mooie woning op klein stukje lopen vandoor en lift. Het is wel handig om de ski’s en schoenen in een depot bij de skilift te laten bewaren. Chalet is ruim en netjes en s’ middags kun je heerlijk zonnen op het terras.

We had an amazing time at Chalet Hannegg. We were a total of 9 (4 adults and 5 kids under 5) and it was a perfect location for us to explore the Berner Oberland. The view is spectacular and sitting on the deck with a nice glass of wine after the kids went to bed was very fun. Super quick walk to the grocery store and to the center of town made it very convenient for us. There is also a great playground "down" the stairs that we had fun exploring with the kids. We even did a dinner at the Hotel overlooking the playground, while the kids played all over it.

Wonderful house in Wengen. Very close to train station and town market. Beautiful views of the mountains and we loved every morning looking at the sun light falling on the snow capped peaks. House was pretty well furnished, kitchen will equipped. Modern looking amenities. Overall a stay we could never forget.
