"Spacious room with all we needed. No hassle with parking. Reception was unattended both when I dropped our bag off and when I came back to check in. Issues with the TV which kept losing signal and the heat pump didn't heat the room. Concerned about security - the hotel allows people to come in through reception (shared with a restaurant) and go via lift up to the floors without swipe card access. Hotel entrance door is open without swipe access needed until 10:30pm. "

"We had a lovely stay here before catching the train the next morning. The room was clean, comfortable, and conveniently located near the train station. The decor is simple, but we stayed here for the ease of getting to the train. The staff were outstanding, very friendly and helpful (in spite of me not grasping things at first). "Golden hotel is the perfect stay once landing in Christchurch and before leaving again. Very clean and nice space. Staff is also responsive and kind with inquiries. There is a Vietnamese cafe right on the main lobby so very convenient for a quick pick me up. Overall, would stay here again so definitely recommend!"
