"This hotel is just outside of cat ba town. to go out for dinner in the evening involves a bit of a walk up a hill into town. It is down in the harbor where you catch the boats to go to Halong Bay. It is immaculate. the breakfast is served to you. It is not an all you can eat breakfast but it is certainly sufficient. But if. you want an extra coffee, they want to charge you for it. "Hai and Chilly were fabulous hosts, communicative and always happy to assist in any way. As it was winter we opted to stay in the village. The family sized room with 2 king beds and bathroom plus your own seating and hammock out the front situated in lovely gardens was a great place to recover after doing the Ha Giang Loop. Basic breakfast is included, lunch and dinner are available with dinners being shared dishes with other guests which gives the opportunity to meet others. You can hire bikes...

"Amazing host. Can't give my compliments enough to Dat. He cared for each of us like we were a member of his family and I can say to any traveller you will always be in safe hands. He knows all the best spots to go and has access to some of the best restaurants on the island. On top of this the hotel was modern, clean and the restaurants food was incredible. I literally can't think of a single issue with Seoul 2."

"First of all the staff and breakfast were amazing. The hiking trip organised by the hotel was awesome. The location is really good. The downsides there were lots of bugs in my room. I killed them all and i thought that was the end of it then on the last day upon checking out there was a huge cockroach on the floor, i presume their mother. The water pressure for the hot water didnt seem to exist at times and you had to run it for a while to make it work. "

"The Ireland Hotel is a nice family run hotel. Corner Rooms are bright (there is also internal rooms without windows) and the hotel is generally clean. A few small issues with bulbs not working and TV not working but that is very minor. It’s close to the main “drag” but noise was not an issue. Cat Ba is unfortunately undergoing a lot of construction and modernisation so it’s best to rent a scooter and venture out of town. "

"Great service, daily room cleaning with fresh towels. Staff are friendly and will help you with anything if asked. Breakfast lasts until 9am with good variety of goods. The area is currently under development, so you will see and hear the noice from the construction site. The facility itself is okey, rooms are clean but all in all it surely needs renovation. "

"Uncomfortable bed. Could feel metal wires & they did not give us any linen sheet to sleep with? We were given a thin polyester “quilt” that was not warm at all. I assume this was some type of mistake as the other reviews didn’t mention anything about bad beds. Room was clean, location is good and staff are nice, i just wished they had better sleeping arrangements for a hotel."
