Two layers of double-pane glass dampen the road noise to an acceptable level for us and was outweighed by the convenience of the location, so much within walking distance. Staff were eagerly helpful. "The rooms are spacious by Japanese standards. The beds are very comfortable and the shower is excellent. The TV is equipped with Netflix and other streaming services and easy to use. The location is superb for exploring Gion and Higashiyama, and not far from a metro station to get to the rest of town. The free shuttle service to and from Kyoto Station is a nice bonus. The one negative is that the gym is quite small, with only a few free weights and a treadmill. If that matters to you, consider...
