"Lovely cabin and area. We made it just in time for a beautiful sunset and wish we could have stayed longer. I did not receive any information of Wi-fi access, and while I loved being unplugged it would have been helpful if there was some emergency contact info located at the cabin, since the spot was more remote."

"Very easy to ask questions as the host is always nearby! Also a beautiful location in a charming little rustic cabin! It was nice to unplug and get a little sunburnt. "

"My partner, dog and I came to sugar island to experience a new place in the UP and we will certainly be returning to Sweet Retreat!! Sheri and Jeff were the most accommodating of hosts and truly go above and beyond to ensure everyone’s comfort and fun. We used the bikes on the property and were lucky enough to take a pontoon cruise with the hosts our last night. The cabin was absolutely adorable and had everything we needed. I couldn’t recommend staying here enough! We can’t wait to come back!"

"Property was a ways from town and had to take a ferry to get there, but my fault for not reading description carefully. Cabin was exceptionally clean and very well stocked towels, bedding, cooking accessories. Owner responded in a timely manner."

"Wow! We were absolutely amazed by the wonderful hospitality of these hosts! They made sure we had everything we needed and provide such a peaceful and gorgeous setting on Sugar Island. The house was perfect for our large family and everyone was very comfortable. The small store on site has ice cream, cold drinks and unique treasures. "

"Everything was excellent as it has been every year, we have stayed here. Clean, comfortable, beautiful setting and peaceful. The fishing was not as good as normal, but we had a great time anyway, as usual."

"We stayed for a week with our three kids (11, 15, 17) and had an AMAZING time! Found plenty to do within 60 minutes, and also enjoyed 3/4 days just hanging at the house. The beach was better than we imagined, watching the freighters was a family affair, the ferry was a breeze and evening fires on the sandy beach was a favorite. We also saw the aforementioned red fox on several occasions, which was cool. We brought our kayaks and loved taking them out. Would love to plan a return trip!"

"Could not ask for a more beautiful or well maintained home. Absolutely perfect for our laid back Bachelorette party. We spent most our weekend soaking up the sun on the lake in the kayaks and rock hunting on the beach. Truly a breathtaking house that shows so much time that must have gone in to its creation. Will be booking again! "

"The cottage is clean and has everything you need for a great getaway. The kitchen cabinets are labeled and have plenty of dishes, silverware and cooking equipment.We loved taking in the view each morning and evening on the screened in cottage. While sitting on the dock, we watched a majestic eagle soaring. The beds are comfortable and the ceiling fans are quiet. We loved staying at Maple Point Hideaway. "

"Beautiful cabin on a private lake. Cabin was very clean, fully stocked, and very comfortable. The hostess responded to text quickly and was so helpful and gracious. Would definitely stay again! Will also recommend to others traveling up that away. The only comment i would have is, and this is not a negative comment, is there is no wifi or TV. Phone reception was very limited. There is so much to see and do in that area that you really don't miss it until you return in the evening. If you...

"Beautiful house with plenty of space and fun! Kids loved the games downstairs and we enjoyed the hot tub while listening to the rushing waves of the lake! Overall, great experience! We were between Mackinaw, Sault Ste Marie and Tahquamenon falls!"

"Great place to rent! Check in was super easy. Emails came in a timely manner and we had the code to unlock door before checking in! Everything was just as pictured! Nice little cabin with all the necessities! Kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. We had a wonderful stay, nice and relaxing! We were visited by an Eagle family early in the morning! We visited Sugar Daddy Bakery, the Yooperlite store, Mission Point Cemetery and Pickles Bar & Grill. Would definitely stay here again! "
