"The hotel is in a fantastic location near shops and the beach. It's still very new in terms of its condition and everything looks great. Reception check in was quick and easy and our room had actually been ready early but unfortunately we weren't able to take advantage. We dropped off our bags and rushed out again"

"Staff were lovely, as was breakfast and the bar. But the rooms and decor are the key feature of this hotel and certainly make it unforgettable. Our room and bathroom were not huge but more than adequate and comfortable. The theming of the rooms, corridors, stairways and bar area is amazing, thoughtful, creative and makes this hotel worth a stay for sure, as does the cheeky nature and sense of humour. "Welcome was great. Staff friendly and very helpful. Lovely large room with super wet room. Breakfast was delicious and had a super view of the sea whilst eating. Area was busy but quiet both in our room and the dining area. We will most definitely visit again."

"The air con lowest setting is 18 degrees, not cool enough. There were crumbs on the floor. The mattress was very firm, wobbles when other person moves and is noisy. Check in is slow and busy, can’t hear staff so everything has to be repeated. Reception area isUncomfortably warm and the revolving doors too close to busy reception. Excessively expensive with mean room facilities. You have to be a member to get water. Bar prices expensive (£11.25 for glass prosecco £10 plus service charge)....

Door codes worked as indicated, although knowing the bedroom door needed a key which was stored on the ground floor would've been good to know before climbing four flights of stairs. More like shared housing with individual rooms than a hotel - could hear all the plumbing and foot movements of the room next door. Fine for an overnight stay. "

"Fabulous, oldest hotel in Brighton but unfortunately while that added to the charm it also was apparent in the state of the rooms, however, I understand they are redoing them all in the next while. The rooms, although quite shabby looking, were clean & comfortable. Great location"
