Beautiful property but not up to VRBO standards
Postitives: kitchen utensils, glasses, plates were very clean, nice secluded property with beautiful pond, comfortable beds, excellent communication with owner. Negatives: house was not clean - not filthy - but just dirty (backsplashes in kitchen and bathroom were dirty, cupboards in kitchen needed to be wiped down and cleaned, dusty bathroom shelves / fixtures, most fabric furniture had stains of unknown origin, one bedspread covered with animal hair, floors in kitchen needed to be mopped, walls in kitchen/living room area had stains/spots, porch desperately needed to be vaccumed and air freshened - wet dog smell), outside was a mess (beach chairs in pond/flipped over/on lawn, pieces to beach Connect Four game were all over in the pond, SO MANY broken solar lights EVERYWHERE, paddle boat was 1/2 sunk in the pond, canvas tents in rear of property were down with bedding, rugs, pillows just out in the yard - looked like it had been that way all winter/spring - moldy and wet, broken plastic lawn chairs in several parts of the yard, garbage in yard (toenail clipper, travel deodorant, dice, cigarette butts), broken chair on deck. I know that had I contacted the owner about the cleaning needs, they probably would have come, but I was there with my friends and didn't want someone coming to clean when that should have been done before. We did contact the owner about the outside situation because it was so bad we didn't want them to think we had done it.
