Bear Lane Cottage is a totally updated, waterfront vintage lake cabin with a true hideaway mountain lodge vibe. Pontoon boat rental available upon request.

culture of trust that when these turtles, catfish, and bream see a person coming to
the pier, they assume we are there to feed them, not catch them. BUT, there are
plenty of bass at the end of the pier for bass fishermen.

Annual adult trip

This lake cabin was the cutest! It was so clean and had everything we needed and more! The ecosystem was one of my favorite parts! The owners went above and beyond to make sure we were taken care of! Highly recommend .. with or without kids.

Fantastic

Awesome location. The perfect rustic getaway. The host is the best we've had through VRBO so far, and we've stayed at multiple places on Martin. We will definitely book again.

Lovely Getaway

Very nice, exactly as advertised. The owner was communicative, friendly, and very attentive. This cabin has lots of amenities and was clean, well equipped, and exactly as described. Highly recommended.

great time!

stayed over the AU v GA football weekend and had a great time! The cabin was perfect for what we needed and only about 40 minutes from the stadium. Beautiful view of the lake and very relaxing, feeding the turtles and catfish was a trip! Will definitely look into staying again on our next ballgame weekend.

Labor Day stay

We had a great time. Home was very clean, well maintained and stocked. We loved having a boat, kayaks, lily pad and canoe available for use. The wildlife was great to watch and interact with. It is a beautiful cove and it was very peaceful and relaxing! Also, neighbors were great!

Great Place Great Host!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay on Pleasure Point! Very cozy cabin in a great location. We rented a pontoon boat from John, the host. The kids even skied behind it. Highly recommend the cabin, the boat, and the host! Rent or bring a boat & get out and really enjoy beautiful Lake Martin! We plan to return many times.

Perfect!

This cottage was perfect for our family. We enjoyed spending time on the screened in porch when we were not out on the lake with the boat we rented from Mr.Johnny. The host was very thorough and has thought of everything.

Short but sweet stay

Our family and friends’ family really enjoyed our peaceful stay for a weekend in July. We spent most of the time outdoors and really enjoyed the complimentary Lilly pad, canoe, and kayaks. Communication with John was supreme. He also allowed us an early check in, which was a plus for us traveling from Florida with two 3 year olds! We’d love to return next year, but will have to wait until our next bundle of joy turns 3! The only complaint we had was the door handles being so close to the latches. They were very difficult to turn without resulting in knuckle injuries. Lastly, we respect and fully agree with the notion of outdoor cameras, but did not see that noted in the VRBO profile. Thanks again John for a great weekend vacation spot right on the lake!

Awesome Host

John was very thorough and informative before and during our stay. We had an issue with the AC upon arrival, and John had someone there and fixed within an hour. Everything was exactly as described. My kids loved feeding the fish & turtles at the dock. The location is great. It’s secluded, but still close enough to drive to a store if you need anything.

Family getaway

The house was great. It had all the amenities needed. The owner was nice. There was plenty of entertainment for the water. The only things that were spotty was the TV which kept resetting itself and the shower drain which was a bit slow. We had to wait in between uses for the water to drain.

The most private lot I have been on at Lake Martin. Woods on both sides help increase privacy. Great place for a family of 3 or 4, Very comfortable. Really don't have to bring much. Coffee, snacks, toiletries are all available. This lot would be the best for a winter rental as well.

Great stay in a quiet cove

Johnny the owner was amazing. He gave me a wealth of knowledge about the area. The house was great and the amenities and extras there are a great touch. It was quiet and peaceful. No loud neighbors plus the fish, turtles and ducks was a plus. Not to far from the essentials but far enough to be relaxing. Dont know when we will be going back but i will definently book this house again.

Wonderful cabin and host!

Cabin was very clean, cozy and well equipped. We enjoyed boating and spending time on the dock. The fire-pit was nice in the evening and gas grill was a plus! I can’t say enough nice things about John, the host! He was very attentive and had lots of restaurant and shopping recommendations. We can’t wait to go back!

Peaceful Paradise

Adorable cabin with amazing outdoor spaces! Screened porch overlooking the lake was magical! Wildlife galore in a peaceful cove, with direct water access. Kayaks and canoe provided, fire pit with wood provided, boat rental available. Restaurants, grocery stores, directions, and all necessary information provided with ease. Wonderful communication! Will be making this an annual birthday retreat!

Just Perfect!

Perfect cabin for family getaway

Our family had a fantastic time at Johnny's cabin on the lake. Everything about the experience was great. Johnny is very responsive and helped throughout our stay with anything we needed. Also, he has a boat you can rent, which makes it so easy and convenient to spend some time boating around the lake. We will definitely be back!

Perfect Cabin on Lake

This cabin is the perfect location for a low-key end of year getaway. Especially if you love watching geese, ducks and fish. The cabin itself is simple but you can tell the owner thought through everything about the guest's experience. It is very comfortable and equipped for days in or out. We spent most of the time on the back porch listening to the lake sounds. We hope to visit again.

EXCELLENT ALL-AROUND!! We will be back!!

My husband, son (15yrs) dad (82yrs) and myself stayed in the cabin for the Thanksgiving holiday and we all agreed our stay was PERFECT and the cabin was one of the BEST cabins we have rented. The cabin was perfectly decorated, very cozy and super clean! We loved sitting on the screened porch enjoying the gorgeous view of the lake. The lighting around the screened porch and outdoor area gives the cabin a peaceful and warm vibe. Plus, there were plenty of rockers (rocking chair, rocking couch, hammock seat and outdoor bench swing) for us to "chill" as we watched the lake. A perfect setting for ultimate relaxation! The cabin had everything that we needed for a comfortable and relaxing stay. The property manager, John Watkins, was incredibly responsive (even during a holiday week) and simply WONDERFUL to work with! John made sure that the lights were on when we arrived late in the evening. He gave us excellent directions (easy to find the cabin) and many restaurant recommendations prior to our arrival. He even had water in the cabin and the outdoor fire pit ready with firewood for us to enjoy our first evening. The temperature was supposed to be cool during our stay so John made sure we had an outdoor heater so we could enjoy hanging out in the screened porch comfortably. Truthfully, John thought about every detail necessary to equip the cabin for our enjoyment! The ultimate property manager! We opted to prepare our own meals and enjoy the view at the table in the screened porch. The kitchen was stocked well with all the utensils we needed to create our meals. The living room was such a cozy area for our family to watch movies at night. John had the cabin well stocked with movies and board games for great family fun! John had 2 kayaks and a canoe for us to enjoy the lake. We went kayaking every day and WOW! What a view! One of our favorite things to do during our stay. We also had fun feeding the fish and turtles in the lake. John had food available to feed the fish/turtles. So fun! Our goal was to relax and enjoy the beauty of the lake/outdoors during our stay. Our expectations were met above and beyond measure! Exceptional cabin.
