"The hotel is very clean. The staff is wonderful and will do anything to help. They even stayed way past the normal end of check-in time because our plane was so late getting to Inverness. I would definitely recommend Smithton Hotel!"

"Abbiamo soggiornato 3 notti in questo hotel, a circa 25 minuti da Inverness. La posizione è comoda sia per andare verso nord, sia per scendere verso il lago Loch Ness, e il paesino in sé è abbastanza servito. Il prezzo è ottimo, ma siamo rimasti un po’ delusi dalla struttura in sé una volta arrivati. Se non avete pretese e’ un ottimo punto di appoggio, ma l’aspetto generale e gli arredi risultano piuttosto vecchi e fatiscenti. La nostra camera era spaziosa, il bagno era basico, piccolino ma...

"Restaurant food was good but the service was poor. The pricing of the food is bizarre too and I believe we were double charged for our food. The waiter could not adequately explain the pricing and I think we were charged double because we shared appetizers and mains (I think they charged per person even if you shared plates). The rooms are pretty dated too including a stained chair in the room."

"The main property was nice but don’t be deceived. There is an outbuilding where we were placed. It was old, carpets dirty, and just not what I expected for the price we paid. The grounds are nice but this is located in the city in a neighborhood. I felt it was misrepresented. That said, their scones were good."

"Fantastic food and very nice rooms. The staff were also great with the a special mention of the girl with the awesome pink hair - she was a great host! The food was great, we recommend the scallops, duck and venison dishes. We stayed in room 6 which was lovely and a really nice ensuite bathroom. Very quiet and slept well so can’t complain!"

"This hotel is tired even though we got the impression it’s tried to be spruced up. Room was cold, hot water scarce and breakfast was bang average. I wouldn’t have minded if I’d paid half of what I did but no way this hotel is worth the money they charge. "

"This property was severely lacking for the price point. We have stayed in “ castles” before, so we know what to expect. Kincraig’s exterior looks dirty. The roof needs attention. There are missing slates. The windows need some type of weather seal to help keep moisture from coming in rooms. Our pillows and bedding were damp. The bedding was very poor. They did have a mattress cover, but instead of a fitted sheet, they used a flat sheet. The pillows were the worst! They were flat and didn’t...

"No air conditioning. Bed was very, very uncomfortable. Only one flat pillow per person. Only one towel in room for three people. Fold out as second bed was horrible as well. Carpet was dirty. This room should have cost $100 at most. It does not reflect the pics. Would not stay there again. Over $300 for one night and it’s a motel at best"

"Room was lovely and location was good for what we were looking for. Only complaint is the shower. Not sure if I didn’t know how to use it but just went back and forth from scald to freezing with a few seconds of usable temp In between. Glad I was only there for one night."
