"Hotel was quite basic and our room didn’t reflect the photos shown here on this site. Our bathroom had mould on the roof, was very small and just felt quite old. The bed had a fancy coloured light at the back of it however I think the rest of the room needed a little TLC to freshen it up. "

"Not up to standards. Definitely not what you would expect from a 4 stars luxury stay, a facility that -according to locals- is "the best in town". While the facility is beautiful and the staff is nice, it pains me to say that, next time, we will consider staying at an AirBnB in the city centre and possibly use the hotels restaurant and facilities - no special treatment is reserved for the hotel guests. "Second stay at the Cairn, and it's all around delightful. The food is excellent, the decoration, and you have the village pub right under the same roof! We had a blast at the Friday evening live music and enjoyed exploring around the area. Can't wait to go back."

"Spotless room, comfy bed, fabulous shower. Room was well stocked with tea & coffee and lovely fluffy towels for the bathroom. The decor throughout the whole hotel is incredible - amazing attention to detail and I enjoyed the little quirky style throughout. Can’t wait to book my next stay in 2026! "
