"Room was clean, staff were great and friendly and helpful. Although I didn’t eat at the restaurant the food looked good and it was always busy. I would stay here again if travelling to Chicago. The train station was close by and using the shuttle service was easy and efficient to get to and from the station."

"Even the smallest hotels give two complimentary water bottles. Here, we didn’t get any, and they didn’t even have tap water available downstairs."

"Rooms are dated with old furniture, old appliances. Old carpet. Noise level high. None of staff in uniform, didn't appear to be a franchise run property, though it falls under Wyndham. You can get a much better place with just a few additional $."

"A very well priced motel in a very expensive area. Good access to downtown Chicago via the El as the motel is only 10 minute from the station. It's not a fancy motel but it was, for the price, very nice."

"The property and rooms were super clean and comfortable. I was so surprised to see this hidden GEM in Chicago. It is close to Devon street where we love to go for food and shopping so GEM will definitely be our stop every time we are in Chicago area. Breakfast was so good not the usual buffet at other places but a made to order and hot and yummy. The service was outstanding. I would give it a 10/10 and totally recommend it."

"Avoid. Marginally clean. Tub was gross. I did not feel comfortable taking a shower. Lamps that were supposed to have 2 light bulbs had only 1. No Kleenex supplied in room. Remote control on TV did not work. Had to go to the desk 4 times before someone came to the room and figured it out. Outside stairs are treacherous. The railings are at least 6" too low. You have to be in a bent over position to hold the railing."

"There was no air conditioning that I could manage, just a fan that was dirty. There was no fire alarm. The hot water came out as a trickle.the staff was polite and nice but I found it odd that I received the remote for the TV along with the key.the neighborhood seemed decent, however I was propositioned by what must have been a drug dealer to see if I wanted any coke, heroine, or weed. He also had a difficult time trying to get out of a parallel spot in front of my car and I feared he would hit...
