Club de Golf Catalonia Caribe

While my stay was not completely awful, one incident did take place that was upsetting and concerning. Our first night at the resort there was a fire on the 1st floor of our building and it rose to our room on the THIRD floor. I was asleep and had no idea because their alarm system did not go off and staff did not stop by each room to notify the occupants. I woke up to our room engulfed and smoke. Luckily, I was not alone on this trip and my friend returned back to the room to wake me up and remove me from the room. While the first floor was cleared and moved, there was no communication with guests on other floors. By the next day our room stilled smelled like smoke. When we tried bringing this to their attention we were offered to switch rooms… the following morning. We decided to speak to guest services where they investigated the situation along with another complaint (that was resolved) and again were offered nothing but a room switch… the day before checkout. Eventually all we got was a spa discount for a future visit. The attempt to rectify the situation was minimal and their concern or lack there of for our safety was deeply upsetting. No accountability was taken for their negligence and for that I would NOT recommend this resort.

This trip was our 5th year in a row we spent our wedding anniversary @ the Finest. The staff is like family to us, they remember us from year to year. We have met other couples that return each year as well. If you are looking for a resort you can party at this is the wrong place. If you are looking for relaxation or a great time for kids this is your resort.
