The included breakfast was wonderful home cooking and the owners are incredible, being engaging and extremely considerate. I will absolutely return to Hastings and when I do will only consider staying at the Laindons. I cannot imagine finding better."

"This is the rare 5-star B&B that actually earns its rating. The house is a beautiful, art filled home where attention is paid to every detail. "The room (room 4) was wonderful; very clean and had everything we needed. Very friendly and pleasant staff. The entrance is a little off-putting- it looks a bit shabby and doesn't convey the quality of the rooms. Also, breakfast wasn't until 9.00 on Sunday, which is inconvenient if you have to leave sharpish. We mentioned this to the manager, so there may be changes in the future."

"Staff were friendly and the property itself exudes vintage elegance. Unfortunately our room (Room 5 on ground floor) smelt extremely strongly of damp, so we didn't unpack any belongings. Despite opening windows and airing the room, there remained a very strong smell. There is obviously a long-term damp problem with this room which the owners should really get fixed."

"Check-in was efficient room was on top floor within the roof, access from lift to room can be awkward as there are multiple steps. Room with single bed, mattress was bit soft but okay ensuite was good size shower was okay. Breakfast menu n food was good.. service was unclear whether it was self buffet or table service. Had to wait over 15mins before asked for Tea or coffee. Staff need better training."

"Very nice hotel, but found it difficult to use the pool. Nobody told us children’s swimming lessons would be going on. Also using the lockers in the changing room, proved difficult for me as someone who wears glasses. I need them to put code in for locker, and again to open locker. This meant no where to put my glasses, and taking them to the pool with me, leaving them laying around."
