"If you are looking for a place of peace/quiet and just to recharge your battery - this place is perfect! It sits just off the lake and the private little beach in front is perfect. We enjoy the morning on the deck watching the sunrise, birds, drinking coffee and visiting. Property is under new ownership but nothing has changed from previous owner - Kevin was a great host and the house is perfect. My sister and I have stayed here before and will definitely stay again. "

"This small getaway cabin was everything we needed for a quiet lake inspired vacation. Kitchen was well stocked for our few meals in. The welcome book has a list of places to eat in the area which we tried for lunch. The pool was a relief on the hot afternoons and it wasn’t crowded. Our only regret was that beyond fishing and exploring the state park there wasn’t much to do nearby. "

"Everything about this home was perfect! Jen was a great host, she made everything so easy, she didn’t have a long check list to follow like others. The home was completely stocked, my advice to anyone staying there is to go to the home first to see what you might need. We went to the store first and bought so much stuff she already. She thought of everything! The hot tub was magical, the fishing was great, kayaking to goat island was so much fun, bird watching was mesmerizing (we even saw a bald...

"We had a wonderful stay at this peaceful lakeside home! It was the perfect getaway for our family; quiet, relaxing, and surrounded by nature. We especially enjoyed kayaking, it was our first time, and such a fun experience! The nearby trail was beautiful for walks. We truly enjoyed the calm atmosphere and the chance to disconnect and enjoy the outdoors. Highly recommend!!"

"Plenty of linens and cooking utensils. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. I do not recommend staying there if you have balance and walking issues. The house is beautiful and transports you back in time. Love the western theme. The hot tub would’ve been greatly appreciated after our travel from Fla. "

"Our son graduated from SHSU. I wish we had found this place years ago. So easy and convenient to campus. Communication was great and place is neat and clean. Definitely recommend it for parents visiting their college kids. "
