"There are so many cute little touches to this hotel! In our room, there is a beautiful rice crackers package and a handmade folded crane for good luck! When at the front desk there was yummy mochi for guests to try! Oishii! So good! There is a dining area on the left you can sit and drink ice water and hot tea if you are staying at the hotel. The staff is so friendly! They carried our luggage to our room before we checked in at 2pm! We did drop our luggage at 11am and went adventuring! There is...

"Hotel was great, and very cheap for the space. It’s not luxurious but very comfortable. Good beds. Mini apartment really with little kitchenette. Staff attentive and had good English. Great location for monkey park (steep climb, be warned). Arashiyama is beautiful. Bamboo forest is pretty close at about 10-15 minutes walk away. Convenience store 300m away, right next to Hankyo railway (Arashiyama station) into Kyoto centre. I recommend Mizuki (very Kyoto-authentic restaurant); it’s a gem. "

"The room, bathroom, AND the shower are probably the biggest of all the hotels where we’ve stayed in Tokyo, Osaka, and Kyoto. Did not feel cramped whatsoever. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Just a short walk to the Arashiyama bamboo forest. The location is perfect if you plan to visit the surrounding areas there"

"The location is great- steps from the train station. Not a lot nearby in terms of food and most things close early when the tourists leave for the day. Which means it’s pretty quiet at night. Rooms are good size, not cramped like most of Japan. Windows barely open and the AC was not working well when we were there. "

"The host was amazing. He contacted us to see what time to expect us. Whenever we walked up he was at the door to welcome us and show us around. We loved everything about our stay. Now understand that this is a traditional Japanese home. My family enjoyed the experience. We were a nice 15 minute walk to the bamboo Forest, a short walk to several dining options, cafe for coffee and a Lawson for convenience.
