"We were welcomed with warm chocolate chip cookies ..... yum! Reception staff were friendly and helpful. Our room was quiet and spacious and provided everything we needed. It is literally a two minute walk across the road to the airport terminal."

"We arrived and went straight to bed as it was late when we got there. Bed comfortable but surprised no face cloths in the bathroom . Shower excellent and breakfast really tasty and with plenty of choice. Left luggage in house while we visited the Durham uni.Easy to walk to the Uni business centre. A good choice."

"Possibly because it was for Sunday & Monday nights, our 2-night stay was exceptional value. Very comfortable dormer-style room across the courtyard from the main castle (glad we missed last week's mini-heatwave or it would have been hot - although there was a big fan provided). Excellent breakfasts with interesting choices as well as full English. Friendly and efficient staff. We didn't eat in the main restaurant this time but we know it's good; we just didn't feel our appetites could do it...
